The property

The Homestead is a thoughtfully converted barn set in open countryside on a working farm within the North York Moors National Park, near the village of Moorsholm.

Positioned along the Whitby to Guisborough road, the property enjoys excellent access for exploring the area, with a bus stop right outside offering easy journeys to Whitby, Saltburn and Guisborough.

Surrounded by wide-reaching farmland, mature woodland and a wooded valley with a flowing stream, The Homestead offers a real sense of space while remaining well connected.

Public footpaths and bridleways run directly from the farm, leading onto open moorland and across neighbouring countryside, making it an ideal base for walkers and those keen to explore the landscape on foot.

A local pub is also just a short walk away.

Inside, the barn opens into a well-planned open-plan living space where exposed beams add character and underfloor heating provides a pleasant atmosphere year-round.

The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals, flowing into a dining area and a comfortable sitting space designed for unhurried evenings together.

The bedroom features a king-size bed and a contemporary en-suite shower room, offering a peaceful place to settle in at the end of the day.

Outside, you can enjoy the shared outdoor areas around the farm, including quiet spots to sit and take in the surroundings when not in use for events.

The wider setting includes grazing alpacas and sheep, adding to the character of the farm and proving a favourite with visitors.

The combination of open fields, woodland and running water creates a varied and engaging landscape to enjoy throughout the seasons.

Soon you will also be able to enjoy a dedicated stargazing platform on the farm, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience the beaming stars of the North York Moors skies.

The Homestead is well placed for discovering the North York Moors, with Danby and the Moors National Park Centre nearby, offering excellent walking routes and insight into the area’s natural heritage.

The dramatic coastline is within easy reach, alongside villages dotted along the moors and shore.

The Cleveland Way provides memorable coastal and moorland walks, while historic Guisborough and the Victorian seaside town of Saltburn offer a mix of history, scenery and independent shops.

Whitby, with its abbey, harbour and sandy beach, makes a rewarding day out.
