Bumblebee Cottage sets you up nicely in the heart of Whitby, one of North Yorkshire’s most storied seaside towns.
It’s a great fit for families or a group of friends who want a straightforward, comfortable place to call home while dipping in and out of everything the coast has to offer.
The place is well kitted out, so you can get on with your break without any fuss.
You enter through the kitchen/diner, where you’ve got everything you need for proper meals, oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, laundry appliances, the lot.
It’s the kind of setup that makes cooking feel less like a chore and more like part of the holiday.
The living room gives you a relaxed spot to flop down after a long day out, with a TV and WiFi on hand if you want to switch off for a bit.
There are three bedrooms to choose from: two doubles and a bunk room, each put together with comfort in mind.
The main bathroom has a bath with a shower over, plus all the usuals including a heated towel rail, and there’s a separate cloakroom downstairs too, handy when you’ve got a few people getting ready at once.
Out back, the enclosed garden is ideal for settling in with some alfresco food, while the balcony lets you start the day with a quiet brew in the fresh air.
Off-road parking, central heating, a travel cot and highchair all help keep things simple for those coming with little ones.
Whitby itself is on your doorstep, with its famous Abbey, long sandy stretch, narrow lanes and plentiful places to eat.
You can wander along the harbour, climb the 199 steps, or duck into one of the many independent shops.
Robin Hood’s Bay is easily reached by car and offers cracking coastal walks and headland views, while Scarborough has that traditional seaside energy.
If you fancy something different, Pickering and Guisborough are both within easy reach and offer heritage railways, woodland trails and a slower pace.
All in all, Bumblebee Cottage gives you a solid base to enjoy the best of the Yorkshire coast, whether you’re here for fresh air, good food or simply a change of scene.

Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation in a great location.
Arrived to a spotlessley clean property.
Spacious, comfortable and decorated with local features made it feel like a coastal home. Although the rear of the property is shared, there is so much room for walking along the rear boundary hedges and the space immediately outside each property is privatised. You can see deer in the back field and a variety of birds visiting. It was peaceful all the time. Plenty of parking. Small selection of games and DVD's available. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. The property is situated conveniently for access by vehicle or foot to surrounding Whitby. A lovely week in a great place. Will definitely return.
We have stayed in this cottage at least 10 times when it was Cosy Cottage & it definitely isn't the same - we won't be staying again.
We had no WiFi for the whole week. I spent the week of my holiday ringing Sykes Cottages every day. The owner said this was a minor problem but when you have a Husband trying to work remotely & a teenager who can't use any of his devices this was a major problem to us!! When I asked about some sort of compensation as we had all had to buy extra data for our phones I was told the owner had said No!! Also the cleanliness of the cottage is not the same with items covered in dust. Our experience was very disappointing & as I stated we will not be booking this cottage again.
