  • "What a lovely house."

    I struggle to think how they could improve. Friendly greeting from the family/owners. Stone walled garden was just right. The house was spacious and comfortable with a relaxed feel. Outside there was plenty of space for a stroll, the signs for the walk to the river (and beyond) were a great idea. As close to perfect as you will find

    Beautifully done to a high standard and modern with a cottage/farm house twist. Large rooms and beds, kitchen full of equipment and nice extras like Christmas decorations up. Lovely walks around the area and really nice people who are really helpful should you have any questions. Will be staying again.

  • "Our short trip to Orcaber Farmhouse was everything we wanted and more, for a child-free weekend away for myself and my friends celebrating a few 40th birthdays."

    The farmhouse is maintained to an immaculate standard, and was so warm and welcoming. The hotub was a fabulous addition, even on a cold November weekend. Highly recommend a walk into Austwick and a trip to the local pub, The Game Cock. Food was outstanding and it was so nice to have it within a 20 minute walk of the cottage. Thanks so much to our hosts Gaynor and Neil, we're already looking at when we can return.

  • "The house was spotlessly clean, thank you, I normally have to clean areas that are forgotten about, here, there was none."

    Thank you! The only thing i can think of that would be helpful is a washing line or rotary line. My neice has a severe nut allergy, because the house was so clean, she was able to relax and enjoy her break away, again, thank you!     Gaynor was very helpful. Our weather was great so we spent a lot of time in the garden and hot tub. Our dogs loved it too and plenty of space inside and out for them. Surroundings and countryside was peaceful and relaxing. House was well appointed. Loved the mixture of the original features and modern decor. Spotlessly clean. Would definitely return.

Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is arguably one of the finest areas for walking in the region. With limestone pavements and scars, caves and open moors, the area has a wealth of natural interest and there are wonderful cycle tracks and walks on the doorstep. Austwick boasts a local pub serving excellent home cooked meals and a country hotel for something a little more special, as well as a shop and Post Office for visitors’ daily requirements. This quiet village is nicely off the beaten track, yet the market towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, Skipton and Kendal are all within easy driving distance.
