The Hay Barn is a pleasant family-friendly cottage set in the village of Grewelthorpe, North Yorkshire, within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

You approach the property along a down track, parking up on the gravel before taking in the neatly bricked exterior, which sits neatly within its rural surroundings.

At the front, an enclosed garden with lawn and a picnic bench offers an inviting first impression, a handy space to pause, unload the car, and let children and dogs stretch their legs before heading indoors.

Grewelthorpe is home to a charming pub, a former 16th Century coaching house, which offers traditional 'pub grub' amidst a warm and welcoming ambiance. Nearby Kirkby Malzeard has one pub, two shops and a cosy tea room, whilst the encompassing dale is a popular location for walkers, photographers and painters. The historic city of Ripon is a mere 6.5 miles away, offering visitors a variety of attractions, including its imposing cathedral with 1300 year old crypt, the Yorkshire Law & Order Museums, a bustling weekly market, an International Music Festival and Ripon Races.
