  • "Fleming cottage is very well situated for visiting various seaside places and Bempton Cliffs to see Gannets, Puffins etc (don’t forget your binoculars) It is generally very comfortable although tricky stairs for some less fit guests."

Well equipped for eating in, co-op just across the road is handy. Driveway is not very wide and we found parking on the road to the right of the cottage useful and easier, just parked in drive for loading and unloading. Excellent for dogs, enclosed garden. A higher level garden with a swing seat too but steps a bit steep for me. We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage and recommend it unless you need accessible accommodation. Hunmanby is a delightful village, lovely delicatessen a few yards away from the cottage and a couple of takeaways. Excellent week in the cottage and getting around the area.

Thank you Andrea for your feedback. it was lovely to have you with us. We are so glad you enjoyed all the area has to offer. Thank you for giving us feedback on the property, we've spoken to the cleaning firm to address the issues you raised and have asked Sykes once again to include accessibility information on the website. • "Just back from a week stay in this lovely cottage."

Everything you needed was there ,and we did appreciate the cooling fan!. Garden is beautiful our fav spot was the swing. Our dog Cracka appreciated the enclosed secure outdoor space. Cottage is situated on the high street within walking distance of shops, takeaways and pubs. Food was fab with big portions. Friendly and helpful people. We visited Filey,Bridlington, Hunmanby Gap and Flamborough Head. Just fab. Would be happy to return Thank you.

Thank you for your lovely review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We are not used to needing a fan on the coast but now thinking we might need a bigger one! Property Owner

  • "A beautiful cottage, lovely and clean and plenty of room."

Private parking. Everything you need, so close to the shop, chinese and chip shop which I do recommend. Short drive to the coast. I will definitely be going back we loved it.

  • "First stay in Fleming cottage over the bank holiday weekend, beautiful cottage, extremely spacious but very cosy."

The cottage is full of nooks and crannies, with an impressive selection of books. Upstairs bathroom and downstairs level access shower room with a very powerful shower, it’s wonderful! Log burner for chillier evenings. The kitchen is very well kitted out. Lovely little village with a couple of nice pubs. A few independent shops, butchers, bakers and hardware shop, co-op opposite the cottage. Off road parking, which is always a bonus. A lovely walk into Filey, takes around 50 minutes or 15 minutes on the bus. The bus also serves Bridlington, Cayton Bay and Scarborough if you don’t fancy driving. The well established garden is lovely, with lots of pretty seating areas, to just chill with a glass of wine or a good book, or both! A minor issue, on my part, was quickly resolved by a quick telephone call to Liz. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Fleming cottage, just wish we could have stayed longer. We would definitely recommend

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Do come and visit us again. Property Owner

The property

Fleming Cottage is a well presented holiday cottage in the heart of the village of Hunmanby, North Yorkshire, offering a welcoming base for couples or small families looking to explore the Yorkshire coast and surrounding countryside.

The cottage dates from the early 1800’s and retains many traditional features.

With two sociable living areas, enclosed garden and patio, and village amenities close by, the cottage suits relaxed breaks in this popular part of the county.

The living accommodation is arranged across two storeys, with a living/dining room forming the heart of the home.

This space offers room to gather around the dining table before settling in for the evening, with a woodburning stove providing a focal point after days spent exploring.

Double doors lead to the patio and bbq area.

Adjoining the living room is a well equipped kitchen, supported by a separate utility, offering practical space for longer stays.

In addition there is a comfortable garden room with a lovely outlook over the terraced garden and the woods beyond.

The sleeping accommodation includes two bedrooms, comprising a super king size bedroom and a king size bedroom, arranged to suit couples, families, or friends sharing.

These are served by a family bathroom with bath, basin and WC, along with a ground floor shower room fitted with a walk in shower, adding further convenience.

Outside, guests can enjoy an enclosed patio garden with furniture and barbecue accessed directly from the house, providing space to dine outdoors and relax throughout the day.

An additional garden with swing seat is accessed via a flight of steps.

Please do be aware, the cottage is a traditional build with some low doorways and a steep staircase, and steep steps to the upper garden area.

It may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility, or for small children.

We welcome well behaved pets.

There will be a welcome pack waiting for you, with bowls for food and water, throws for the sofa, a jar of treats and a crate if you need it.

We just ask that for hygiene reasons you bring your pets’ own comfy bedding.

Hunmanby Gap beach is dog friendly all year round and there are many lovely walks close by.

With a log burning stove in the living room Fleming cottage is as comfortable in winter as it is in summer.

The garden room has underfloor heating for cooler days.

Hunmanby Gap offers amazing walks along the almost deserted beach in autumn and winter.

Shops and pubs are located just a short walk away, while the surrounding area offers plenty to explore, including the seaside town of Filey, the resort of Scarborough, and the harbour town of Bridlington, alongside attractions such as Filey Brigg, RSPB Bempton Cliffs, and scenic walks along the Yorkshire Coast.

Hunmanby is situated on the East of the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and offers easy access to the Wolds Way and other popular walking trails.
