What a fabulous cottage & idyllic location yet only a 10 minute walk to redmire & it's lovely pub. Everything about this property is beautiful including the furnishings & finishing touches. Very well equipped kitchen & having had lovely weather it was great there were two bench tables outside to eat in the gardens. Great walks from the garden too which was fab for our dog. Thank you Ruth for the lovely cheese, & milk etc & all your help. We will be back for sure!

  • "Amazing property, complete tranquility while having the luxury of countless walks, villages and pubs to visit."

The photos don't do The Bothy justice, it's a stunning cosy property. Even though there are walks that pass the bothy, not many people were spotted. Great for the dog, although an enclosed area would make it perfect. The welcome cheese and crackers and fresh flowers were most appreciated!! Very friendly communication with the owner too!

REDMIRE

Aysgarth 3 miles; Leyburn 4 miles.

The idyllic Wensleydale village of Redmire is situated in a walker’s paradise close to Castle Bolton, Leyburn and the famous Aysgarth Falls. Redmire is on the Wensleydale Railway, which features steam locomotives during the summer, and has regular special events. Castle Bolton, a mile away, is one of the finest preserved medieval castles in Yorkshire, and dates back to 1378. Much of the castle, with its mighty towers and rectangular courtyard, survived the orders to destroy famous Yorkshire castles issued by Parliament in the Civil War. Nearby Carperby was an important centre for Quakerism and the largest building today is the classically styled Friends Meeting House, which overlooks the market cross and village green. Redmire's village pub serves good food, and there is an excellent range of amenities in the nearby market town of Leyburn. What's more, Swaledale and Arkengarthdale are both easily accessible from Redmire.
