  • "We had a lovely time at Beacon cottage ,it was small but perfect for us as a couple and a small dog, nice enclosed patio/ garden so we could let him out with no concerns."

Bathroom is downstairs off the kitchen so could be something to bear in mind for future guests, I would say it would be quite 'snugg' if there were more than 2 guests staying as the lounge is very small and because of this we found the seating a bit uncomfortable, parking right outside was never a problem and where the cottage is located in Pickering it is very quiet yet just a short walk down into the town. We have been visiting this part of the world for years now and especially Pickering, the town is well serviced with restaurants/takeaways that will keep most people happy (especially if you like Indian food) as there are 3 restaurants and all are superb! A little tip for future guests, as the steam trains weren't running when we visited we instead took the 840 coastliner bus to Whitby, it was a wonderful ride across the north york moors, a bit hairy in places but fantastic....be sure to sit upstairs for the best views! I would of put these details in the guest book at the cottage but there wasn't one ( unless we missed it) overall, another wonderful holiday in an around Pickering
