  • "Great location, close to town center as only a 10 minute walk."

The beds were comfortable, and we used the king size. The landlady on request promptly brought us a fan to use in the bedroom. Suggestions:- The shower bracket needs repositioning a few inches lower, which would enable the shower head to be rotated more upwards,, thereby spraying your whole body without having to stand so close to it. There is no toilet or shower upstairs. Using one of the smaller bedrooms as an on suite toilet and or or shower would be nice. A washing machine may be useful for some customers staying for longer periods. Some negatives:- Entrance to the rear and the kitchen was covered in large quantities of moss form the roof and we were trapsing this moss, into the house while we were unpacking the car bringing dirt in. Accommodation would not suit someone with a wheel chair, as it has 2 steps on the ground floor to the kitchen and toilet/bathroom. Parking (as mentioned in description) at the rear is not ideal, as it is narrow and you need to leave a space for the neighbour to move their bins past your car on a Tuesday for bin collection. This would only suit a very small car. We parked on opposite side of the front entrance. There is plenty of room for your car here. The exhaust fan does not work in the toilet.

Thank you very much for your kind and constructive feedback. In response to the points you raised: The fan in the toilet is set to come on to remove steam from the shower, therefore, does not come on every time someone uses the bathroom. Parking, the description states that parking at the rear is a shared access and only for a small car, there is ample parking in the road opposite the property. The description states that the property is not suitable for someone in a wheelchair as there are steps inside and the bedrooms are upstairs. The moss from the roof is swept away weekly, however, in times of wind/rain it does come off the roof, I am sorry you were inconvenienced by this. The description states clearly that there is no washing machine. I had to choose between that or a dishwasher as do not have space for both. I was advised that holidaymakers would rather have a dishwasher and usually bring enough clothes for the duration of their stay. Regarding a bathroom upstairs, this would be nice, however, as the plumbing is at the very rear of the property it was not possible to plumb one in. Also, the bedrooms are not large enough to accommodate an en-suite. I will definitely look at repositioning shower head bracket lower on the wall. Property Owner

  • "Had a wonderful and relaxing stay."

Welcome hamper was excellent. Garden was dog safe, except one point where one of our small chihuahua's could scramble under the gap, once noticed we managed it. Clean and well equipped cottage. The parking to the rear of the property was useful for our Mini, not sure larger cars would fit that well. Need to keep driveway clear on Monday nights to allow a neighbour to put their wheelie bin out and back in Tuesday. Main road outside is unbelievably busy making it a challenge to cross for less able footed. But excellent insulation prevents noise intrusion inside the house. Notes would be helpful on take aways that do home deliveries. No negative comments intended, we had a wonderful stay

Thank you for your lovely feedback and I will certainly look into which takeaways offer home delivery Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Daisy Cottage, a beautifully decorated listed cottage; Spotlessly clean, spacious inside including the bedrooms, the beds were so comfy, 3 of us had our own rooms with a bed to spare."

Lovely little back garden with patio seating for those sunny days. The welcome basket was very much appreciated, thank you Debbie. Managed to reverse my Honda Jazz on the private parking area; there always seemed to be ample spaces on the grass verge opposite the front of the cottage if anyone has difficulty. 10 minutes walk to the steam railway station, lovely ride to Goathland. Recommend the moors Coastliner bus to Whitby, a double decker with fantastic views. Got to the accoustic folk night on the Monday at the Sun Inn, 5min walk. A lovely break, thanks again Angela and friends

  • "Warm, welcoming & well equipped."

Spotlessly clean, comfortable king sized bed and our dog enjoyed the secure dog friendly garden. The dog treats and chocolate in the welcome pack were nice touches and the handy recommendations for local pubs and restaurants in the Daisy folder were spot on. The cottage is perfectly located for our weekend exploring the cute villages of the north Yorkshire moor & only 10 mins walk from town center. Will be back in the summer to enjoy a BBQ on the terrace overlooking the garden.
