  • "First impression when you arrive the front of the property needs a good weeding , when going in you have everything you need although a bit of a quirky layout."

Unfortunately when opening the back door you are prevented from accessing the back garden area which the next door is very overgrown with brambles and nettles , the neighbour a few doors down who cleans the windows did strim.it for us . He also fixed the catch on the garden area gate as it was broken so couldn't get in . The other issue and the reason we didn't use the garden area was flies as soon as you open the door or windows you are swapped with them ( we spent the whole week with them shut in this weather ) we had to buy fly paper and spray . We didn't use any of the cooking facilities as when we opened the oven there was a dead fly on the bottom . The neighbour told us the owner is aware of the issues , we also did not get much sleep as the blind really isn't fit for purpose and perhaps extra curtains would keep the light out at 6am !! . The village is what we like nice and quiet and the short walk to the beach was lovely, no village pub and you need to book the cafe if eating as very busy but food is good and reasonable. Don't like complaining and I did leave a separate note for the owner rather than writing in the guest book so the issues can be fixed and not have a slightly negative comment in . I do have pictures of the issues if required.

  • "Comfortable house in an idyllic location for the beautiful beach (5 minutes walk), Saltburn on Sea (10 minutes drive) and Staithes (15 minutes drive)."

Many more places nearby but we were there for a short break and couldn’t fit much more in. There is one informal cafe/bar/restaurant Kascane which again is a short 5 minute walk, serving good food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The rear gravelled patio area at the back of Isla’s Sea Forge is raised and is accessed by 6 steps in an area shared by the neighbouring house, and a further 6 up to the bin storage. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and clean house and was excellent value for money. The Prosecco and biscuits left for us by the owner was a lovely and appreciated touch.

  • "A super little cottage that is clean and modern."

Comfortable bed, large bathroom and good kitchen facilities. Close to the beach and park, which is ideal if you have a dog. No problem parking in the street directly outside the house.

  • "This is an excellent property, exceptionally clean and comfortable."

Well-equipped. Just a short walk to the beautiful beach and great walks along the coastal path to Saltburn and Staithes. The outside space is well thought out but the steps up would benefit from a little maintenance. We would definitely stay again.

  • "Clean, comfortable and well equipped accommodation."

Parking outside the door and only a few minutes walk to the seafront with access to the Cleveland Way. Very limited outdoor space but as we visited in March and the seafront was so close this wasn't an issue.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay & thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Unassuming on the outside but a gem on the inside."

Small, cosy accommodation but plenty of room for 2 people. The thoughtful little extras were much appreciated. We had a great week with pretty good weather.. Lots of beachcombing, visits to local towns and eating establishments. Local pub within short walking distance serves good, reasonable priced meals though booking is recommended. Land of Iron museum in the village is well worth a visit.
