Wick Cottage is a really lovely, home from home place to stay in Whitby and we would recommend to friends and family.

Very comfortable beds with lovely warm quilts. Lots of hot water for a nice relaxing shower. Seating area/living room is nice and relaxing with large comfortable couches to chill and a good kitchen area. There was only two of us, but we believe it would be absolutely fine for four adults or a family of 6 (with up to 4 children). Parking to just unload/load luggage was an issue. The three spaces outside the cottage (up to 1 hour parking using disc provided) were always taken by workmen or a disabled badge holder (who could park there indefinitely). We parked at St Hilda's Terrace long stay car park, which was £11.70 for 24 hrs and just a five minute walk away. Spaces are extremely limited though and we were lucky to get a space. The other problem with this was that we had to return by 9.00 am each day in order to pay for the next 24 hrs, so there was no chance of a relaxing start to the morning whilst we were there. The location of the cottage is perfect; it's so central for absolutely everything including restaurants, bars, the beaches and the abbey. The downside of this of course is the noise from traffic, deliveries and, whilst we were there, workmen. This is to be expected to a degree and if you come prepared as we did with earplugs, this will really help. The outside seating area at the cottage has been thoughtfully created, however there was a most unpleasant smell of drains, which made it impossible for us to sit out there during our stay. If possible, the owners need to address this. Overall, a really pleasant stay in Whitby.

Great cottage in great central location.

Everywhere was walkable for us. Some may find access slightly tricky with the stone steps but we were fine. Cosy, comfortable and clean. We were able to drop our cases off ok and moved the car half a mile away. There were no spaces to load up when we left though, so had to go round the block again! We would stay here again as it was perfect for us.
