  • "Well equipped cottage."

    Clean and comfortable. I was slightly disconcerted to be asked to clean all the kitchen equipment, bathrooms, etc. hoover carpets and empty the hoover before leaving by 10am. I would never dream of leaving a messy property but felt for what I was charged this was surely not all my responsibility.

    So glad you liked the cottage, Catherine, it is deceptively spacious with two bathrooms and a downstairs loo. We do pride ourselves in giving guests a relaxing break here in the Highlands. We are grateful for any tidying our guests can do at the end of their stay, it is very much appreciated! Property Owner

  • "Very cosy and well equipped cottage in a beautiful area."

    Several wonderful hikes in the region.The only thing that was disappointing was that the cottage was not connected to the public water supply and the water tasted absolutely foul,so much so that we had to fill up bottles in nearby mountain springs! But ,we had a great stay and would recommend this cottage.

    I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay in the cosy comfortable cottage, set in a stunning location. I'm sorry that you had issues with the taste of the water; not something that has been raised by a guest before. There isn't a public water supply in the area. Our water is pumped from a bole hole and it is "hard water" due to the geology of the region. The water for all of the cottages, and our own home, then goes through filters and UV sterilisation so it is safe to drink (water quality is tested each year by the Highland Council Environmental, Health department, and the pass certificates are displayed in each the cottage). For those who find hard water unpalatable we do supply a water filter jug in each cottage. Property Owner

  • "Hele mooie accomodatie, heel compleet."

    Hele attente eigenaar. Bij vragen reageert ze snel. Ik had een vraag over midges en welk middel we het beste konden gebruiken, staat er bij aankomst in het huis een flesje smidge op tafel! En we hebben het moeten gebruiken... Echt super!

    Translated; "Very nice accommodation, very complete. The owner is very attentive. She responds quickly to questions. I had a question about midges and what remedy we should use, and when we arrived at the house, there was a bottle of smidge on the table! And we had to use it... Really great!"   • "We had an amazing stay at this cottage!"

    The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect—peaceful and relaxing, yet close to everything we wanted to explore.   • "A beautiful rural and quiet location, set on a loch."

    Fort Augustus is a short drive away where there are all the local facilities. The enclosed garden is a sun trap. The contrast between the modern facilities of the kitchen and the bathrooms and the charm and character of the lounge are perfect. The hosts are charming and helpful.
