So glad you liked the cottage, Catherine, it is deceptively spacious with two bathrooms and a downstairs loo. We do pride ourselves in giving guests a relaxing break here in the Highlands. We are grateful for any tidying our guests can do at the end of their stay, it is very much appreciated!

I had a question about midges and what remedy we should use, and when we arrived at the house, there was a bottle of smidge on the table! And we had to use it... Really great!" I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay in the cosy comfortable cottage, set in a stunning location. I'm sorry that you had issues with the taste of the water; not something that has been raised by a guest before. There isn't a public water supply in the area. Our water is pumped from a bole hole and it is "hard water" due to the geology of the region. The water for all of the cottages, and our own home, then goes through filters and UV sterilisation so it is safe to drink (water quality is tested each year by the Highland Council Environmental, Health department, and the pass certificates are displayed in each the cottage). For those who find hard water unpalatable we do supply a water filter jug in each cottage.
