  • "We stayed here for a week as a family and there were certainly things we liked."

    The cottage is in a lovely and very quiet location, has plenty of character, and the owners were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. That said, we left feeling that the cottage didn’t quite live up to the expectations created by the description, particularly considering the price paid for the week. The dining area was smaller and more cramped than we expected, with poor lighting and uncomfortable seating. The Church Pew type Bench was awkward to sit on as it kept leaning forwards. The kitchen was also quite compact, and the combined microwave/oven setup proved frustrating and awkward to use. A simple free standing easy to use Microwave would have been much better. The biggest issue for us was the showers. Water pressure was very poor throughout the cottage, and the shower trays regularly filled with water during use. It may sound like a minor point, but when you’re staying for a full week and several people are using the facilities every day, it becomes quite noticeable. The shower floor tray covers needed to be removed for water drainage. We were also surprised by the departure instructions. We completely understand leaving a holiday cottage tidy, washing up, emptying bins and generally respecting the property. However, being asked to clean bathrooms, wipe down appliances, clean the fridge, vacuum floors and empty the vacuum cleaner felt excessive for a paid holiday let. It’s not something any of us have encountered before in the many cottages we’ve stayed in over the years. Overall, the cottage has charm and is in a peaceful setting, but there were enough practical issues that, as a family, we didn’t feel it offered the value for money we were expecting. With a few improvements and more reasonable checkout expectations, it could provide a much better guest experience.

    Hello Mark, we are sorry that the Keeper's Cottage didn't live up to your expectations. The Instruction books for the Bosch comination microwave oven, and all the other appliances, are in the cottage folder for guests who are unfamiliar with any of the appliances. Regarding the water pressure, this is not something that our guests have mentioned before; quite the opposite. As we were on-site during your stay, we would have preferred you to mention any issues regarding operation of appliances or the three showers to us so we could help you immediately. Thank you for the tidy condition that you left the cottage, we do appreciate any cleaning that our guests do before departure. We will take your comments on board. Property Owner

  • "We had a very enjoyable week at Keeper's Cottage."

    The location by Loch Garry was stunning in itself, while at the same time being well placed for visiting the Isle of Skye as well as Ben Nevis and Inverness. The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped and even though we shared a courtyard the property felt private and was very quiet.

  • "The lovely Keeper's Cottage exceeded expectations!"

    The cottage was beautiful, homely and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more and ended up returning some of the stuff we'd bought beforehand since the cottage came stocked with it. It's also well placed in the Invergarry area, with Fort william and the Loch ness both at manageable distances and the Isle of skye also not too far away. Set in a beautiful location, we could see lambs and sheep grazing from our windows at all times. Also, the cottage owners were in the cottage next door and helped us out readily, when needed.
