  • "The cottage was a fantastic base during my trip to the north of Scotland."

It was clean and very welcoming. I loved the upstairs lounge area with the velux windows with all the light pouring in. Thank you for the milk, butter and cheese etc. I would love to return again.

  • "Ticks all the boxes for relaxing weeks R&R."

Only the two of us plus dog- so more than ample space- if you’re tall- just watch your head coming down the stairs- learned to duck after a few bumps!

Thanks for your lovely comments, glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope your head has recovered. Property Owner

  • "3 Dunrobin Street is a great property."

Nice, modern decor and very comfortable. Great facilities and handy for town and seaside walks. Only issue(not for us) is that bathroom/shower upstairs, so, wouldn’t be suitable for people with reduced mobility. Thans for a lovey break and the delicious local cheese, milk and butter

  • "This is a lovely old fisherman's cottage with lots of character, cosy, comfy and well stocked, very handy for all that Tain has to offer."

There was a problem with opening the front door, we could see various screws had been removed previously and the key cover; it is easy to open from outside but we all struggled with opening from inside. Also we couldn't find any information about what we could put in the recycling, which does differ from place to place. However, these minor niggles apart, we really enjoyed our stay. The local cheese plus breakfast rolls, milk and delicious butter you provided were most welcome. I would definitely recommend a stay in this house.

  • "Lovely little property, provided a perfect base for us whilst visiting the area."

It was clean, bright and comfortable with lots of extras that made it feel like a home from home. The owners left a lovely welcome pack of rolls, milk and local butter and cheese which was such a lovely touch. The kitchen was so well stocked opening straight into the garden. Would definitely stay again :0)

Be charmed by the homely kitchen, where you can look forward to preparing tasty home-cooked meals for your guests, as they uncork a bottle of wine and set the table ready to tuck-in.

After a hearty meal, retire to the plush sofas in the first-floor sitting room, and kick-back and relax with a cup of tea and your favourite book.

When sleep calls, you have the option of three tastefully decorated bedrooms to retire to, a double and two ground-floor doubles, ideal for those with limited mobility.

Wake-up and indulge in a leisurely soak in the bath, before joining your guests for morning coffee in the enclosed rear garden.

Jump in the car and cross Dornoch Firth Bridge to visit Dornoch Castle, situated just opposite the town's stunning cathedral; built around 1500, the castle is steeped in history and well-worth a visit for its fabulous atmosphere.

Budding historians can travel further up the coast to the magnificent Dunrobin Castle & Gardens, dating back to the early 1300s and boasting a total of 189 rooms inside a gorgeous French château exterior, which was a naval hospital during WWI and a boy's boarding school in the 1900s.

3 Dunrobin Street is also a brilliant base to embark on the North Coast 500 route, a 516-mile journey around the north coast of Scotland, taking visitors to many popular attractions throughout the Highlands to make the most of the truly unique landscapes.
