  • "We spent a week at Quarryfield 10 years ago and forgot what an amazing place it is."

The 9 rooms make it spacious and comfortable and the communal spaces are brilliant for entertaining and socialising. The amenities (snooker, table tennis, tennis) are excellent for kids and adults alike and the views are outstanding. This was a perfect venue for us as a groups of 16 golfers and reasonable access to several of the world’s best courses. A brilliant holiday all-round and superb memories for life. Thank you!

  • "We got married at Quarryfield House on the 2nd June in the grounds."

The house has provided us with the most magical memories of a day spent with our family. We were a group of 14 ages between 5-55, house hired for one week and it is fabulous. So well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Spotlessly clean with lots of amenities in the tennis, snooker, darts and table tennis along with the hot tub. We all had an amazing time here, glorious views from the house and loads to do in the area. We will definitely be back for another family break it suits all our generations. Special thanks to Jane the housekeeper and to the gardener who pitched up on the Monday in the middle of the nerf gun wars battle and was unfazed amongst the carnage of it!! Thank you Quarryfield for giving us the most special memories, ones we will always treasure.

  • "This place was perfect."

It was everything we needed and more! We had a family of 12, aged between 17 and 82, and it catered for everybody. The snooker table was brilliant and although the cues could do with replacing, we took our own so it didn’t affect us. Tennis, Darts and table tennis also kept us entertained too. There were facilities for a bbq, as well as easily cooking for the entire group. The laundry facilities were excellent. The views were breathtaking - being able to stand or sit out in the back and take in the views of a morning is something I am going to miss! The one improvement I would suggest is to add a TV into the main living room for those families that do like to watch TV, as currently the only TV is in the snooker room, but again it didn’t affect us too much as there were lots of other ways to remain entertained, as we took and played board games around the dining table. I would recommend this place to any large group and I won’t hesitate to book again if we were looking to visit the area again. Jane, who looks after the property, took care of everything for us on arrival and was very kind in showing the first arrivals around the property. She was always only a text away if we needed anything but left us to enjoy our holiday - she was amazing!

From the bedrooms on the ground floor for the grandparents to the large open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room area to the snooker and table tennis tables. There was so much space and entertainment for all, we even played tennis outside in the middle of January! The views are beautiful from the house and it is so easy to find. A special mention to Jane, who helped us organise the weekend and made sure everything went so smoothly.

  • "Ideal venue for a bigger group."

Great walks round about and the snooker room/table tennis court were an added hit! Very spacious living/kitchen/dining area with a roaring fire. It was perfect! Couple of points were that the amenities list could be updated perhaps. We took a lot of extras that we didn’t expect to be there (dishwasher tablets/slow cooker/tin foil/cling film/kitchen roll). Also had to google instructions for the hot tub after it took so long to heat up as it is a wood burner hot tub. Steps for heating this up are required. It wasn’t ideal having to empty, clean it & then fill up after a couple of days of use. Given there is no filter/chlorine added to it (it is basically a big bath), it stank & the water needed changed.

Our only comment is that the stone paving slabs near to the tennis court are extremely slippy when wet and quite dangerous we felt. Just need a power wash to clear them. Other than that everything was perfect.

There was 14 of us, all family aged from 10-73 celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary. The house was amazing better than we could have imagined. The facilities were excellent, everything we needed and more. There was plenty for everyone to do. Everything was provided that we needed including all sports equipment and wood for the Hot Tub. There was shops close by and the brewery just along the road. A 10 minute drive to Inverness. Jane was extremely welcoming and made sure we had everything for the week. Jane also came in and cooked and served us a delicious 3 course meal with her lovely helpers. We had the best time and lovely memories were made. I would thoroughly recommend booking Quarryfield @LHH and I hope to book again in the future.

  • "Quarryfield is in a wonderful location with good facilities."

Received a very warm welcome from Jane and she was very helpful through the week. The house is very comfortable but would benefit from a little maintenance. We were blessed with sunshine during our stay but unfortunately there was no base for the lovely large parasol which had apparently been previously broken and not replaced. Everyone enjoyed all the space and being able to eat together in the stunning dining area. There was no music system available as this had been removed due to faults. I did leave a list of small issues within the house and garden with the housekeeper as advised on checkout instructions. We would certainly like to return to Quarryfield and would certainly book with LHH again.

Loads of activities in the house and plenty big enough for 16. Jane looked after us marvellously with some lovely dinners and Allangrange is a short walk away for food too. I would highly recommend Quarryfield. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

  • "A fabulous house booked for my family when I married in Fortrose."

The house is absolutely tip top luxurious with all bedrooms on a par. The games room, sun room and lounge all link nicely to allow a large party to mingle and not be crowded. The tennis court was a great success for groom and best man to limber up before the wedding! Tennis in kilts! The family then stayed all week after we left for honeymoon and by all accounts a super time was had by all given the great location for touring the Highlands.

  • "What a fantastic place for a holiday."

The house is amazing. It is furnished to an extremely high standard and the fact that every room has en suite facilities is a bonus. We have just visited for the second time as a group with 4 families, last time for a long weekend this time for a week and it still didn't feel long enough. The kitchen is great to cook in, it has everything you will need, 2 large fridges, cling film, tin foil, ice machine, great cooker. We like the fact that you can spread yourselves around the place either by the log fire in the sitting area, watching tv in the snooker room or reading in the conservatory. Our favourite place is the tennis court with even granny and grandpa playing! The snooker table, table tennis and darts keep the men and children happy and there are 2 bikes for the children to play on. It is a short walk into the village for morning rolls and a lovely restaurant where we walked in the dark one night for a delicious meal. The Black Isle Brewery was also just a short walk away and a must for all visitors. Jane , the housekeeper is extremely accommodating and very helpful. In short I have rented many houses but this one is the best and we are already looking at dates for returning next year Quarryfield see you soon!!

  • "Had a wonderful vacation."

This home is absolutely beautiful. Perfect for a large family or several families to share. The area and views from the home are just breathtaking. In the countryside yet only 15 minutes to the city of Inverness. Great base for a vacation. This home is so clean and well stocked. I believe the home is only three years old. Loved the design of the house!! Superior rental property. More than worth the price. Jane the housekeeper is so nice and went out of her way to make sure we had everything needed. Truly did not expect this caliber of a rental home. The bedrooms are set up with 3 upstairs on one side of the home, and 6 on the other. 3 upstairs, 3 downstairs. Perfect set-up if families wanted to share the house. Offered lots of privacy within a wing. Kitchen is a cooks dream. I was worried that the house would be too far out but we were only 15 minutes from the airport and the city of Inverness which was beautiful. We did a lot of day trips from the house. Biggest downside of this home is that once your there you just want to spend time at the house. We had 3 wonderful dinners at the house, 1 being an outdoor barbecue. Highly recommend this home.(ps. we were worried about midges which we were told were up in Inverness in the summer. None at the house. We sat outside till late in the evening enjoying the views. Kids loved the snooker, table tennis, games, tennis court etc. Truly a Scottish Gem.

The property

Munlochy 1.3 miles.

Rising from the picturesque countryside of Munlochy, near Inverness, Scotland, this magnificent holiday home is truly a fantastic base for responsible hen and stag groups, families and, due to the array of close courses, golfing holidays.

With a conservatory catching the light, a long drive and a backdrop of trees, you will instantly feel the luxury of this stay.

Entering through the glass doors of the conservatory, notice how spacious and airy this property is.

Finding yourself in a games room, you will be welcomed to test your skills at pool or recline on the L-shaped sofa and catch up on your favourite TV shows, before heading through to the sitting room with ample seating, an abundance of windows, a beautiful stone fireplace as well as all of the furniture decorated with tartan, continuing the theme of a Scottish holiday, a traditional feel that is added to by tall ceilings and wooden roof beams.

Leading on from the kitchen is a large dining area with a central table, the perfect place to have a social meal, and it is worth noting that there is a cook available to hire for this property if you don’t wish to be self-catered, plus the added wonder of a large Christmas tree and decorations here around the festive season.

The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with so much space and all of the home comforts you will need to create the perfect breakfast and whilst you wait for dinner, why not utilise the handy utility room?

There is also a downstairs WC and basin available for guests.

When it comes to the bedrooms, there are nine to choose from, all king-size with zip-links that can be set up as twin rooms on request, with an en-suite bathroom, shower room or a private bathroom, so there will be no queues for morning showers or a relaxing soak in the bath, and each room offers a wonderful view to the countryside surrounding the property, and the décor is delightful, sporting Anta fabric, again in keeping with the Highland theme.

This property goes above and beyond when it comes to facilities, offering a large garden with vast parking, an amazing hot tub to relax you after a long day of golf, a lawn space to picnic whilst enjoying the rolling hills of the surroundings, a large tennis court, a half-moon patio of alfresco dining and socialising and a climbing frame for children.

Despite this property having so many activities available, there is much more to see within the local area, for example you could take a leisurely stroll up to the Munlochy Bay Viewpoint, where you will have expansive views out to the bay and the Moray Firth where there is a possibility of seeing dolphins.

With such a close proximity to Inverness, this house offers local cafes, crafts and produce, access to hikes and walks, as well as a greater variety of restaurants, pubs, shops and activities in Inverness, including a trampoline park and Inverness Botanical Gardens.

The main attraction of this area, however, is golf, with the local area boasting some of the best courses in the country including Royal Dornoch, Nairn Golf Club, regularly hosting the Walker Cup, and Brora.

There are also local courses such as Fortrose and Rosemarkie.

With so many activities to keep you busy, Quarryfield is the perfect base for a magnificent Highland adventure.

About the location

INVERNESS

North Kessock 5.9 miles; Dores 9.2 miles; Tomatin 15.5 miles.

The Capital of the Highlands, the city of Inverness, is the gateway to the countless delights of the Highlands of Scotland. Towering mountains, dark lochs, great forests and precipitous sea cliffs are all within easy reach. Of particular note is the legendary Loch Ness, which is surrounded by some truly breathtaking scenery, although most visitors are usually on the lookout for something a bit more mysterious! Just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor (National Trust). The site of the last major battle fought on British soil, there is an award-winning display depicting the battle, whilst a walk on the field serves as a poignant reminder of the clansmen who lost their lives. Inverness itself has much to offer, museums, an art gallery, fine theatre and leisure facilities, not to mention shops, pubs and restaurants. The River Ness flows through the city and both the river and neighbouring Moray Firth are home to a diverse range of wildlife and marine life including red kites, along with dolphins, which can sometimes be seen from the shore, or on trips from the harbour.
