  • "We really enjoyed our three night stay at 23 Northumbria Terrace."

    Everything we could possibly need was provided and it was clean and welcoming. Amble and the surrounding area has plenty of places to visit, we have yet to find a bad beach in Northumberland it’s well worth a visit.

  • "Great cottage in a perfect location for the town and surrounding area, very comfortable and well equipped."

    A couple of small points that need attention are the rug in the lounge which needs a non slip mat under it as it is a bit of a hazard on the hard floor and there was a small gap in the hedge to the right of the front door which our small terrier found straight away and was in next doors garden like a shot, we blocked this with a flower pot so wasn't an issue. Apart from that, faultless!! Make sure you visit Bamburgh and the many stunning beaches in this beautiful part of the country.

  • "What a little gem of a cottage."

    Very comfortable bed and all the extras you would need. Close to the centre of town and David is a great host. Highly recommended, we will be back. Also recommend Jaspers if you want some of the best food around. Book early though!

  • "We had a lovely stay at this property,lounge was very spacious and comfortable seating ,kitchen everything you would need and a welcome pack on arrival day was very much appreciated."

    Lovely down stairs bathroom. Bedrooms lovely and plenty of storage space and comfy bed and cleaned to a high standard. The field at the end of street was ideal for my dogs walks first thing and also close to all bars and eateries and pods on Amble harbour,also bus stop near by if you wanted to go to other places and take a day off from driving .

  • "A lovely house in a quiet location and a short walk to the harbour and main street of Amble, and in an ideal location to travel to other towns in the area."

    The house was generally well equipt, however some cleaning supplies for the kitchen and bathroom would have been good to have. We did find a few items from the previous group in the cupbaords and drawers, and the hoover bag was full, but on the whole a lovely house, and we would definately come again.

  • "A lovely property, attractively furnished, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen."

    Short walk to numerous places to eat and shops and bustling harbour. Amble is a great base for visiting the numerous places of interest and beautiful beaches that Northumberland has to offer.

  • "The cottage was perfect."

    There was everything you could need. Lovely quiet area, and only a 5 minute walk to shops and harbour. The beds were really comfortable, a nice private garden to sit in and the property was very clean. Will definitely go again.

  • "The most amazing accommodation!"

    A lovely, private garden at the front to sit out & another space at the rear. Well-stocked kitchen - everything we needed to make meals & dining area. Very comfortable living room to relax with smart TV & WiFi (we didn’t need to use the log burner). The most comfortable king size bed & lovely quiet area ensuring a good sleep. Great shower & bathroom downstairs. Spotlessly clean throughout. Big field to walk the dog around the corner. Easy parking. Lovely gift of milk & bread & dog biscuits… Short walk into the centre (& more dog walks) with supermarkets & lovely places to eat (Fish Shack & Ukrainian restaurant); boat trip around Coquet Island. Great base to explore the area - lots of beaches Highly recommend - but not too much as want to go again!!

  • "Have been here many times, and always enjoyed my stay."

    This time was saddened at the lack of cleanliness, the lounge smelt of dog and had not been hoovered as there was long dog hairs all over the rug. The bedrooms smelt like they had been sprayed the smell was so over powering it caused an allergic reaction I’m guessing it is the detergent being used, needs to be changed to something much milder, and the towels that were for guests to use were really rough and needed five minutes in a tumble dryer. The lock in the back door needs attention as really difficult to turn and unlock and the dead lock on the front door needs attention also as can also be difficult to unlock. The best parts are if the snags were resolved it would be amazing and they are things that would not cost a lot. I had contacted the owner and shared most of this information with him he was very polite .

    Hi Gill, Im also saddened - and somewhat surprised too - to hear that feedback. Numerous positive comments about the cleanliness of the property not only on this platform but also in the guesthouse book has certainly led us to believe that it is being cleaned to a high standard. when you called on your arrival I do recall offering for the Cleaner to come back again but you declined that. We discussed the back door lock too which I recall you actually said was broken. It materialised that it was just perhaps a bit stiff for you. On a further recent check the back door lock works perfectly fine but is slightly stiff so I’ve applied some WD40. There have been no other comments regarding this from any previous guests. You also then called that same evening saying that you felt the Wi-Fi didn’t work but managed to get that resolved when you used the correct code. I’m sorry to hear about your allergic reaction. We use popular high quality cleaning brands As you separately mentioned you’re ‘allergic to almost everything’ so that will make things slightly tricky in terms of providing products that don’t impact your allergies. And we did have a good check in terms of Pet odours. I didn’t really detect anything particularly pungent. It is a dog friendly property and we are happy for people to bring their pets as you also did. I hope these things didn’t impact your visit too much. In our last phone call you mentioned that you would return to the cottage and would recommend it to friends and family. best wishes. Property Owner

  • "Perfect location and base to explore the area."

    The cottage has everything you could need. Great if you have a dog with a field for them to run on a few steps away. Parking outside the cottage too. Would highly recommend

  • "The larger of the two bedrooms needs light bulbs!"

    The ceiling fixture only had one of four working bulbs. The bedside lamps had VERY dim bulbs as well. There wasn't enough light to see myself in the mirror after dark.

  • "Had a great stay over Easter in this lovely property."

    The house is on a quiet road, a short walk to the town and bustling harbour. The garden is a suntrap and enclosed, so perfect if you have a dog. We would definitely book again and highly recommend.

Spend a lazy Sunday strolling through the town's weekly market and Harbour Village, boasting quaint independent shops with street food, crafts and homemade gifts, whilst the rest of the town hosts a wealth of supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and takeaways to suit your dining needs.

Venture out to the RPSB reserve of Coquet Island and meet unique wildlife including puffins, terns and eider ducks, with the chance to enjoy a boat ride around the island, whilst more adventure can be found at the Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre.

Visit the neighbouring seaside village of Alnmouth and discover imposing sand dunes resting above marvelous beaches, fishing rivers and golf courses alongside even more amenities and dining options.

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
