The property

Braeburn is a charming single-storey house nestled in the coastal village of Bamburgh, Northumberland.

With countryside and castle views, an enclosed rear garden, and pet-friendly features, it’s perfect for families and friends exploring the Northumberland Coast and nearby national park.

Arriving at Braeburn, the gravelled drive and blue wooden-panelled exterior echo the coastal hues of the nearby shoreline.

The air carries a hint of salt and dune grass, and just across the road, a sandy path leads to Bamburgh Beach, where the castle rises in the distance.

Step through the rear conservatory, where rattan furniture invites you to pause and enjoy the garden’s quiet charm.

Inside, the well-equipped kitchen includes an airfryer, dishwasher, and a tumble dryer tucked away in the garden shed.

A shower room off the kitchen offers a handy spot to freshen up after coastal adventures.

The spacious dining room features an original bread oven, adding character and a sense of history to mealtimes.

In the sitting room, a gas fire glows from a rustic stone alcove, warming the wooden floors.

Bay windows flood the space with light, and in winter, glimpses of Bamburgh Castle peek through the trees.

Original wooden panelling and latch-and-bolt doors lend heritage charm throughout, while soft blues and whites reflect the coastal setting.

Three restful bedrooms, a super-king, a king, and a twin, offer flexible sleeping arrangements, styled with gentle tones and soft textures.

The family bathroom includes a bath with a handheld shower, ideal for unwinding after a walk along the dunes.

Outside, the enclosed garden is a haven for children and pets, with a lawned area and a sun house for relaxing.

As evening falls, it’s the perfect spot to linger with a warm drink as the sky fades and the sea whispers nearby.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £350.

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
