Extremely well equipped and very comfortable cottage, great location for exploring Scottish borders.

Coldstream had good facilities available lovely bakery, fabulous Indian restaurant and takeaway, 2 friendly pubs, even had a wonderful massage at Serenity. Some wonderful walks in easy access by River Tweed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Stable Lodge.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Conveniently situated close to all amenities, yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Parking was easy, immediately outside. The museum was a short walk across the square, and there are great walks and many places of interest close by. We would have stayed another week had the cottage not been already booked by someone else. Lucky people !!!

We absolutely loved our stay and didn’t want to leave!

The cottage was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. We like to try different places but would definitely come back here. Coldstream has a lovely little museum and some nice walks. We also managed to visit 5 castles in the area plus a trip to Edinburgh. We usually book places with off road parking but never had an issue with parking in the square at all. Can’t wait to come back!

All in all a very nice place to stop, good location and very comfortable and well equipped, could do with a few dinner trays, but that's being a bit picky, would highly recommend

Stable Lodge is the cleanest holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.

The cottage is cosy, comfy and convenient to all the local shops, cafes and pubs. It has everything you could need on a self-catering holiday. Zoe ( the owner) was very helpful and easy to contact and we very much appreciated her text and welcome pack. Thank you.

Lovely accommodation ideally situated in the corner of the towns market square, central position but quiet.

Good location as a base for exploring the Borders. The house was very well presented, stocked with everything needed and clean. Nice owners who kept us informed and were generous with their time. Highly recommended.

Stable lodge is a delightful cottage set in a delightful Scottish town, right in the centre of things but very quiet to enable you to totally relax.

We found everything in cottage that you could possibly need and more. The welcome pack was so welcome. We found plenty to do in Coldstream from friendly staff at local Co_op to a museum just off the square dedicated to the Coldsream guards. We had a wonderful week at the cottage and thank Zoe for her kind and friendly attention.

This property was in a nice quiet area handy for most facilities in town.

It is well equipped,comfortably and nicely decorated and extremely clean. With ample free parking in the square.

Had everrything you could wish for. Good parking and great spot for exploring the Borders. Only (very) slight issue was the outside space which was more overlooked than we expected. Overall an absolute delight and would highly reccommend

The cottage is situated in a quiet square behind the high street at Coldstream. It proved perfect for exploring the Scottish Borders and walking locally around the river Tweed.

Such a lovely comfy bed. Lots of crockery, utensils, glasses etc. Excellent location. Really good communication with the owner. Very kind and much appreciated welcome tray. This was our second time of staying. Highly recommended.

A lovely clean and tidy house, with everything we required for our weeks stay.

It is in a quiet corner of the market square. It was very thoughtful of Zoe to leave a welcome pack, It was appreciated after a long drive. It a great place to explore the borders and Northumberland. We found every one was friendly in Coldstream. It is a place I would like to return for another holiday.

Our Second stay at Stable lodge .

comfortable clean and home from home. Convenient for the Scottish Borders and north of England. Highly recommend the great tapestry of Scotland at Galashiels , even just to appreciate the work let alone the history. We again used our Historic houses association cards to the full. We visited Mellerstein, Arniston, thirlstane and Floors in Scotland and Bamburgh and chillingham , each house remarkable in side and out . The tours at the first three were so interesting and puts a human face and shows the great commitment they have given to their homes .

Stable Lodge was well located in a quiet area of Coldstream, with parking nearby which was helpful.

The property was nicely decorated and everwhere was clean. We also appreciated the very comfortable beds. Although we didn't use many of the extras in the bathroom and kitchen cupboards, it was nice to have them, in case of need.. We also appreciated the cake left for us on arrival, which was welcome after our journeys. If you are interested in exploring the Scotish borders, which have lots to offer, this is a good place to stay.

The cottage was absolutely wonderful, very comfortable and welcoming.

A nice welcome pack of cake, biscuits and milk which we very much appreciated after our long journey. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed. We had a text message from Zoe, the owner, the day before we set off advising of where the key store was and confirmation of the code. She also texted us after we arrived to see if everything was okay and then again during our stay to check again. We would definitely love to stay again in warmer weather to make use of the courtyard too. Thank you Zoe for making our stay just perfect.

Best stay we have had in a Sykes place.

Brilliant communications with the owner Zoe. Very comfy bed, extremely well equipped kitchen. Parking right outside the door.

Conveniently situated in the centre of Coldstream which has all required facilities as well as pleasant riverside walks and the Coldstream museum.

Short drives to many other places of interest and on bus route to Berwick on Tweed and Newcastle. Lots of cycling routes too. The cottage has a shared courtyard which is a delightful sun-trap in the afternoon.

Property had everything we needed and more that we didn't use!

A perfect base for exploring the borders and the fantastic coastline. Position in Coldstream was ideal- the square is very quiet and we were not disturbed at all in the evening/night. Zoe was the perfect host who communicated brilliantly. Thoroughly recommend.

A very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage in a quiet location yet only a few minutes on foot from shops and cafes.

We really liked the courtyard at the back of the cottage which was a delightful spot for sitting out when the sun shone. Coldstream was an excellent base for exploring Borders towns and the attractions of Northumberland.

A superb homely cottage in an excellent quiet location.

We loved it from the minute we walked in and were reluctant to leave. The owners had thought of everything their visitors might want so we had a brilliant stay. Could not fault it - and we've stayed in a lot of S/C properties.

Lovely cottages , right in heart of Coldstream but tucked quietly behind Main Street in the old market square plenty of parking.

Cottage every thing you need . Plenty of walks ,pop over to England in ten minutes! Or walk along river or go into Hirsel estate . Plenty to do and see beautiful scenery and wonderful houses surround. The townsfolk all welcoming . Will definitely wish to book next year . So much still to do! Thank you to our hosts

Great week spent at Stable Lodge.

Excellent quiet location but quick and easy to get into the town centre. A delightful cottage, clean, tidy and everything we needed. Coldstream is well locate to visit the rest of the Borders especially the short walk to the wonderful Hirsel Estate - worth a visit or two!

Lovely cottage, very clean, well equipped, lots of extra touches without feeling cluttered.

Main reason for our stay was to visit family in the area and to spend time relaxing. The cottage was very comfortable with a pleasant outdoor seating area at the backdoor. Easy parking and good location for access to local shops and cafés. Would definitely return to stable lodge but would bring less luggage now that we know how well equipped it is!! This was one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

Usually there is something missing but not this time.(even egg cups and that's a first) Zoe was extremely helpful when we had a query. Very well situated both for local amenities and for touring the borders. We wish we could have stayed longer. A big thank you Zoe.

The cottage was lovely and is in a good location.

Bed was comfy as was the sofa. The rooms are all spacious. Owners were very welcoming and nothing to fault at all. We would book again.

Our first impression when walking in to Stable Lodge was Wow!

It is extremely welcoming and does not disappoint as you enter each room. The bedrooms are well furnished with plenty of wardrobe space and hangers, and very comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you need, in fact more than you need! We really appreciated the cake, biscuits, milk, tea, coffee and all the other little extras. The lounge is cosy and comfortable to relax in by the fire. We thought all the different table lights in each room were beautiful. The location is excellent for exploring, only an hour from Edinburgh which was our main reason for choosing Coldstream as I had always wanted to see the castle. We went to various other places too including Berwick upon Tweed and Bamburgh and loved to come 'home' at the end of a day. Coldstream itself is an interesting town with lovely walks, quirky little gift shops, an excellent butchers, and the Besom Inn was worth the visit! I would certainly recommend Stable Lodge and would definitely return if visiting the area again.

Property clean, warm and comfortable - ideally situated for our requirement at the time but would also be ideal for persons wishing to visit the Scottish Borders and Northern Northumberland.

Stable Lodge is an excellent property with everything you need for a wonderful stay.

Zoe is the perfect host with excellent communication and a wonderful welcome pack left for us at the cottage. All amenities close by within easy walking distance, shops, pubs, takeaways, restaurants, butchers etc. Parking available in the square immediately outside the cottage. Perfect location on the border for local walks and further afield journeys such as to Edinburgh and Bamburgh castles being particular highlights for us. Definitely recommended and we would love to return to this beautiful part of the country and certainly to both Colldstream and Stable Lodge.

Plus extras like mini toiletries for emergencies. Nice goodies to greet us. Pint of milk in the fridge and even better a bottle of Prosecco

We had a wonderful stay in Stable Lodge, which included by chance, Civic Week, a wonderful border’s town celebration.

The stay at Stable Lodge was very pleasant with all manner of activities very well catered for. Great communication with Zoe, the owner and a lovely welcome pack on arrival. The neighbours were very friendly too.

It was clean and comfortable and Zoe and Graeme had thought of everything we might need. We stayed during the heatwave and the house kept nice and cool to come home to. It was an ideal base for exploring the Scottish Borders both for the coast (cold swims!) and good walks inland.

This cottage was a home from home.

Everything you needed was provided. The welcome basket was much appreciated. We even had time in the courtyard which was a sun trap and so peaceful. Would definitely stay here again.

We greatly enjoyed our week at Stable Lodge.

We were welcomed with a basket of shortbreads and lemon drizzle cake and, on opening the fridge, we discovered a bottle of prosecco. What a start to the holiday! Zoe was also very attentive to ensure that we were comfortable. The cottage itself was very well equipped and homely. It is well located in an attractive square and close to the shops and other amenities of Coldstream. As walkers, we were pleased to be able to access a number of local walks without having to use the car. Coldstream is also conveniently located for walks in the Cheviots and on the Berwickshire and Northumberland coasts. The suggested walks with maps in the cottage information book was a very helpful addition to our own material. In conclusion, Stable Lodge met all our needs and gave us a great base for a very enjoyable holiday.
