  • "The Haven is a lovely cottage."

We particularly like the living room and kitchen being upstairs. Martin and Sally are very very helpful particularly to us as we lost our way getting there. Being able to charge your car is a real bonus. The cottage is spotless and very well equipped. Bailey our dog really loved the dog bed provided which was a surprise as he had never been in that type of bed before. Thank you to Martin and Sally for a lovely short break.

Sue, thank you for your feedback. We enjoy reading our guests experiences and to know the things they have enjoyed about the cottage. Pleased too that Bailey liked the dog bed! Most of all we are pleased your short break was everything you wanted it to be. Sally and Martin Property Owner

  • "Clean & well equipped cottage in quiet location."

Great welcome from the hosts with homemade bread & jam as well as tea/coffee/milk provided. Rooms were spacious with good storage & enclosed garden was ideal for our dog. Nice walks nearby & not far to drive to local attractions, Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, etc. Would definitely recommend staying here & we are likely to come back. We've stayed at a few dog friendly cottages in Northumbria & this was by far the best.

Amanda, Thank you for the positive feedback, it was great to be able to provide accommodation that suited all your needs. Northumberland is certainly a wonderful county to visit with lots of things to see and do, great that you had plenty of country walks for your dog on the doorstep. We look forward to hosting you again in the future. There were plenty of books, guide books and games of all sorts. It was a lovely surprise to find a large bowl of fruit, a bottle of wine and some freshly-baked bread waiting for us, AND some of our favourite jam - black currant - thank you Sally and Martin!

  • "We had a lovely stay at the Haven."

Martin and Sally had thought of everything to make our stay perfect. We had everything we needed and things we didn't know we needed until we used them (dog cleaner was great) for a comfortable stay. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable (I asked my daughter and her feedback was she liked how it looked and the bed was comfy). Location wise it was great for exploring the coast and the borders. It is on a main cycle route with quiet country roads. We boogie boarded at Cheswick beach, found fossils, gem stones and saw dolphins at Cocklawburn beach. Walked across the causeway to Holy Island. Went to Cragside Castle - adventure playpark, maze and interesting house and grounds. As well as local castles and stream trains. There is so much to do and explore we barely scratched the surface. Thank you for having us at your wonderful cottage.

Kirsten and family, we are so pleased you had a wonderful, action packed holiday in this beautiful part of Northumberland. Thank you for taking the time to review The Haven and your positive comments. Over the years we have strived to ensure guests have comfortable, well equiped accomodation, a home from home. As newcomers to Sykes Holiday cottages we aim to continue that approach. We hope to welcome you again in the future to experience more of this outstanding area. Thank you. Sally and Martin.
