FIRST PLACE VISITED TO LEAVE CLEANING, WASHING UP LIQUID AND TEA TOWELS TO KEEP THE PLACE TIDY - NO NEED TO RUSH OUT AND BUY EVERYTHING. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

"Twincote is a delightful cottage on the outskirts of Wooler, in the Northumberland national Park."
On entry the sign reads ' a small house with a bug welcome '. This couldn't be more true. The welcome pack is so generous - thank you. The cottage is beautifully appointed with all facilities (no wifi). Perfect for two adults who want a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is warm (with central heating and wood burning stove) and spacious downstairs. A well equipped kitchen and good hot water system for the bathroom. The bedroom, in the eaves has a very comfortable bed and sufficient storage for a weeks clothes. From the velux window the views across the valley are stunning. On clear nights there is a 'big sky' view of the stars. This was our fourth stay at Twincote and we will certainly come again.
oh thank you very much, I look forward to your yearly visit very much. Have healthy and happy year and hopefully see you again in 2027. Property Owner

"The accommodation was clean, very welcoming and well equipped."
Located in a reasonable location it is good for exploring the county. Pity it does not have WiFi.
Thanks for your review. Hope to get WiFi one day when it's more readily accessible but hope you had a good holiday Property Owner

"Very comfortable and cosy cottage."

"Had a lovely stay at this cottage which is in an ideal location for exploring the National Park, the wonderful Northumberland coastline and the Scottish borders."
The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped with some much appreciated initial supplies to start off my stay. The only downsides to the property are clear from the listing; lack of WiFi, low ceilings upstairs and some noise from the road at night. All in all I had a great stay and may well return in the future.
Thank you for your feedback we would love to see you again ! :) Property Owner

"A lovely cottage - well equipped and comfortable with nice touches."
We knew about there being no wi-fi but it did create problems. There were also issues with the water heating and the heated towel rail but these were sorted out by the owners. The position on the road did make parking the car a hazardous experience.
Hello, We do apologise for the failure of the water and heated towel rail but we did our best to have the difficulties remedied in a timely manner. Parking can be challenging and we have found reversing into the parking bay is best. We hope you had a lovely holiday. Property Owner

"Wonderful cozy cottage."
Spotless and extremely well equipped. Lovely welcome pack and fabulous hosts. Excellent location for exploring the beautiful Northumberland sites and countryside.

"Great stay in Twincote, with (nearly) all facilities provided in this great house."
Well equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture/ bed and plenty of space generally for 2 people. Lovely views of countryside from the front of the house. Only downwides were no Wifi (which we hadn't realised beforehand) and the bedroom/ bathroom (inc toilet) upstairs all have sloping ceilings so you have to be careful/ its slightly tight. However, a great week overall.
-
"Lovely comfortable cottage plenty of room downstairs."
Facilities were very good and situation near Wooler was perfect for our walking holiday. Lots of options for trails and hills very close. Easy access to the coast as alternative activities.
-
"What a lovely cottage, well stocked with tea, coffee, milk and sauces, and a welcome bottle of wine."
It's ideally placed for visiting Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. The cottage overlooks miles of countryside and the garden is well stocked with poppies and other flowers. The only negative is access. It's good that it has off road parking, but the view is very restricted when pulling out, and the car was almost on the road before I had a clear view to the right. Maybe a traffic safety mirror would help. Also, reversing in whilst waiting for a gap in the traffic is a challenge, especially with a larger car. Apart from that it was a lovely week, Thank You.

"Lovely location, although main road straight outside we didn't notice it,shame ..."
Lovely location, although main road straight outside we didn't notice it,shame about no WiFi but did get a good phone signal so no worries, would stay again if we go back to Northumberland 5*

"A beautiful cottage with fabulous views over the valley."
Very comfortable and well equipped. Goos central heating and wood burning stove. Stylish bee-themed decor, which both intrigues and delights. It has everything a couple can wish for including a generous welcome pack. No WiFi. We've stayed her three Easters running and will certainly book again.
It is always a delight to have you stay! Thank you so much for the tea cosie which is sitting very proudly in the kitchen waiting for your next visit. Thanks for the very positive feedback too. Property Owner

5 I new it low ceilings so that wasn’t a problem most things you need like milk sugar tea coffee sauce was there to nice touch And a good central point for lots of things to do
it's lovely to hear you have had a lovely holiday and love Twincote as much as we do. Property Owner

"We really enjoyed our stay at Twincote."
Everything was first class the only slight discomfort was coping with the low sloping ceiling upstairs.
It's good to hear you enjoyed your stay. Please come again :) Property Owner

"Just got back from a lovely stay at Twincote, perfect location for touring."
Perfect size for two, had everything we needed. The road outside not a problem for us ( out touring ) at night very quiet. We had good weather for time of year, the view from the conservatory is beautiful. Coming back to the area, still a lot to see. Café at Mill field is very good, also a little further down the road The Blue Bell pub. Certainly would come again. Thank you for the Wine / Biscuits / Milk.
What a lovely review, thank you! It's lovely to hear you had a fab time and you're certainly welcome back anytime. Property Owner
-

"Beautiful cottage in a well placed location."
So cosy and comfortable, a home away from home! The cottage is so pretty inside, such attention to detail. Great views across the fields from the lounge...we loved sitting and watching the hares of an evening.

"Twincote is a delightful cottage, conveniently situated on the main road between Wooler and Milfield with great views over the valley."
The cottage is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Perfect for a couple. It was nicely warm on arrival and the woodburning stove was an added bonus. The welcome pack was smashing and included an Easter bunny and Easter eggs. Thank you. WiFi would make this the perfect retreat. We came last year too and will certainly come again.
Hello Sylvia, it will be lovely to see you again. One day we will have wifi just waiting on the fibre passing by our way. Take care and hope to see you again. Property Owner

"Had a very relaxing holiday at Twincote."
House was very clean and homely with nice little touches. Loved the inglenook fireplace which was set for us to use. It was a very cosy place without the fire but was lovely to sit with a roaring fire which we both loved. Big thank you for the wine and chocolate biscuits that were left for us. We thoroughly enjoyed both and would highly recommend this quirky home which was close to all the places to visit Yvonne and George
Thank you Yvonne and George for your lovely feedback. Good to know you enjoyed yourself. Property Owner
-
"Despite the weather we enjoyed our visit and as already stated a lovely cosy cottage."
Clean and well kept. Only problem we could see is that the parking area is tight if you have a big or estate car. Would highly recommend to anyone.
We can depend on the weather for letting us down but we're pleased you were able to have a lovely holiday in Northumberland. Thank you for your recommendation too, appreciated. Property Owner
-

"Lovely cottage, everything you need for a good holiday."
Drive for car only suitable for small cars. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Central for visiting many attractions.
Thank you for your feedback. We have trimmed back the bushes in the parking bay so that it is back to its full size and can accommodate larger cars again. Pleased you had a lovely holiday Property Owner

"This is a good base for visiting lots of places."
Twincote is a nice little place, however if you are a tall person (or even shorter like myself at 5’3”) there are a few bumping head hazards. My husband at 6’3” spent practically the whole 7 days walking stooped over. Getting in and out of the shower was a task in itself. The Cottage had quite an off putting old smell when first walking in. The kitchen sink wasn’t too clean,I felt the need to clean it myself, the dishcloth was quite dirty afterwards. We actually left it cleaner than when we arrived. It was brown from I suspect tea/teabags being left/tipped down it and there was food crumbs stuck to the bottom of the bowl. The upstairs however, was spotlessly clean. The bed & pillows very comfortable. Had no qualms about sleeping on it. Great to have a parking space but very difficult to park in it as quite tight, especially as it’s on a very busy road. Wouldn’t suit a bigger vehicle.
Hello, I truly apologise for the shortfalls you found in the kitchen. We were on holiday ourselves so had different cleaners do the cottage and obviously didn't do the task in hand to our usual high standard. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the 'quirky' features of Twincote and i hope the bumped heads weren't so bad. We have since trimmed back the foliage around the parking bay which has cleared the parking bay so that it easily accommodates larger cars. Property Owner

"A lovely cottage with everything you could need."
It was clean and comfortable. The view is wonderful and the sun room and binoculars a bonus. Very friendly owners. A very thoughtful welcome pack. Quite a busy road but off road parking a real bonus.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We hope you were able to catch sight of the barn owl hunting over the fields in the evenings? Property Owner
-
"Excellent property in a beautiful part of England."
Home was spotless and had everything you need for a stay. Nicely decorated and provided a comfortable base to come back to after a busy day visiting all of the local attractions or walking in the beautiful countryside around Wooler.
Thank you for your lovely feedback it would be lovely to see you again. Property Owner
-
"The cottage was lovely, well appointed for visits to interesting villages nearby."
Wooler was about a mile from Humbleton and well worth investigating. The owner had been very thoughtful, leaving everything you could need. The area, of course, was a walker's paradise. Enjoyed every moment there. Fred and Helen
Really pleased you had a lovely time, welcome back anytime X Property Owner

"We had a wonderful few days at Twincote."
The cottage was perfect for a couple. It is well equipped, comfortable and beautifully furnished with exquisite taste. Easy off road parking for one car. The woodburner was a bonus but not really needed as the electric heaters were excellent. The sun lounge was delightful with fabulous views across the valley. WiFi would have been an added bonus, but it kept us off the Internet for a few days. Overall, we would definitely book again and recommend the cottage without hesitation.
-
"Lovely cozy cottage, great welcome pack and information leaflets."
-
"This is a lovely cottage for a couple."
We used it as a base for exploring and so only really slept in it but it was ideal for that. Wooler is a lovely village and everyone was really friendly. It was well equipped and had everything that we needed.
-
"Excellent facilities within this gorgeous cottage."
Very well equipped kitchen. Towels, tissues, cleaning bits, wood etc. all to hand. We took lots of self catering bits with us but it was all there. Amazing. Gorgeous fireplace, we enjoyed sitting in front of that each evening. Great free view TV. Well situated for visiting Cragside, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne etc. Hoping to go back and stay again.
-
"What a lovely little cottage!"
This cottage has everything you could possibly need for the perfect getaway. The location is ideal and the village has everything you need. The surroundings are beautiful! On an evening you can put your feet up and gaze out to the beautiful view. You won’t be disappointed

"We had a lovely time at Twincote and were very comfortable, it is a lovely cottage and in an ideal location for exploring Northumberland."
Jane was very helpful and communicatons were excellent. We would definitely return and Twincote is highly recommended.
-
"Cottage was lovely, comfortable and spotless."
It had everything you needed also nice views from anywhere in the cottage. Was very spacious, parking was a plus and hoping to return in the future. Jane and Andy were just a phone call away if you needed anything at all and nothing was a problem.
-
"We wrote a resume in the book provided at the cottage, for the owners to read."
-
"Much care has been taken to provide clean, comfortable accommodation, and the location was ideal for exploring the region."
-
"Low ceilings a significant down point in an otherwise lovely cottage."
Parking access difficult from busy road. Low wall could be removed to widen car park space. A better information pack would help. I.e it’s one thing to tell how to turn hot water on. It’s another to find it when not told where it is! Small thing, but would have been helpful. This cottage had least info and most unclear of any cottage we have stayed in.
-
"We had a most excellent stay."
The cottage was everything we expected and more the views were magnificent although the sign on the door said a small cottage we thought it was larger than we expected, a great centre for exploring the area and coast. We would highly recommend this to anyone.
-
"The cottage is well-equipped and has wonderful views across the fields and hills."
It is ideally located for visiting the many castles, such as Alnwick, Bamburgh, Chillingham and Dunstanburgh, and the wonderful coastal sites such as Holy Island and the Farne Islands. The only slight negatives [hence, 4 stars, rather than 5] are the lack of wifi, and the need to manoeuvre round the sloping ceilings in the bedroom and ensuite - but we had a lovely holiday at this charming cottage.
-
"It was wonderful we had a great holiday and wouldn't think twice about booking this cottage again."
Ideally situated for visiting a lot of great places. Amazing view and considering it was on a main road very quiet.
-
"A delightful cottage, beautiful decor and very homely."
The scenery is amazing from the cottage and all around. The owners were very helpful when I had a small problem that was rectified quickly and hasten to add that it was my mistake. Would certainly recommend this property.
-
"This is the best cottage we have stayed in, it catered for our every need."
We had a wonderful week. The welcome package was very much appreciated, and the scenery is wonderful. Our hosts deserve 10 stars.

"Cottage is very well laid out for 2 people with a comfortable living area and a very good bed."
Kitchen is well equipped and the knives were sharp, which is a major plus. It is well placed for visiting the area, which is varied and fascinating. Loads of places to visit including castles, ancient churches, battlefields, mills and, of course, the seaside. The walk round Wooler was particularly interesting.
Lovely to hear that you love Twincote as much as we do. The area is certainly an interesting one, so pleased you had a nice time. Property Owner

"We had a great holidays at Twincote cottage."
The place was very clean and has everything you need. Although being a cottage it has a big windows and a lot of light. The big fireplace is a great bonus . The location is great for exploring Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, Northumberland National Park and Hadrian's Wall.
Really pleased to hear you enjoyed the cottage and Northumberland. Would be lovely to see you again Property Owner

"Thank you, we've just returned from a lovely stay at Twincote."
A great wee cottage for 2 which is very well equipped and has a lovely living space and kitchen. Cottage has an open fire, and electric heating which meant it was always warm. Nice location just outside Wooler (about 20 min walk over the back road) which has 4 pubs a few shops and a couple of cafes. Cottage was immaculate, and the owners had left a lovely welcome pack, which we really appreciated. Hope to return in the near future.
We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Twincote and liked the cottage as much as we do. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Property Owner
