Craggs Cottage

Sykes Cottages were absolutely useless regarding our complaint regarding a so called peaceful retreat to this property.

Had previous good experience of this property so "knew what to expect". Arrived to a building site!!! Work was happening next door, and scaffolding was on Craggs property. Noise, dust etc ruining our visit. Owner said not her fault, didn't want to know..Usual procedure ,quick to take your money, slow to even help with a qenuine complaint. Don't use Sykes or go to Craggs Cottage. As for customer services they do their best to make sure you don't TALK to them, hiding behind emails, texts etc. One very unsatisfied customer.

Had a wonderful week at Craggs Cottage.

It is comfortable and well equipped. It is situated on a well maintained, huge, mixed farm and the owners and their families are welcoming and very kind, happy to explain the workings of the farm and to provide tips on things to see and do. We stayed with two Goldens and that worked out well.

Fantastic location, warm and friendly hosts, lovely and clean accommodation.

Our Christmas 2025 stay was so perfect we booked again for 2026!

The homemade shortbread and mince pies were incredible and the cottage was so homely, warm and welcoming. We are so excited to return for Christmas 2026 and many more...

This was our 2nd stay at Craggs Cottage and it was perfect again.

So peaceful and we were lucky to see a new arrival on the farm a baby calf was born whilst we had our stay there.

Great little cottage set on farm land we were made to feel really welcomed on arrival.

Ideal if looking for a nice peaceful break away.

We had a wonderful time staying at Craggs Cottage.

Kirsty, Alan and the rest of the their family were so accommodating to us during our stay. Myself and my parents really enjoyed staying on a working farm and being able to explore to our heart’s content. Any questions or queries we had during our stay were always dealt with promptly and with warmth and kindness. We were always made to feel welcome. The cottage itself was extremely well presented, very neat and tidy. All of the essentials for cooking and cleaning were at hand and easy to find, and a comprehensive welcome pack enabled us to find instruction manuals for all of the appliances in the cottage and information regarding rubbish and instructions for departure. There was also a freshly baked fruit cake waiting in the cottage upon our arrival which has been enjoyed immensely! I would highly recommend Craggs Cottage to anyone staying in the Scottish Borders for any length of stay. The cottage is close enough to larger towns such as Kelso to make it easy for buying groceries or eating out in the evening and located not too far from the A68, meaning it was fairly easy to get onto a main road and travel back and forth to different places in the area. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning to Craggs Cottage again one day.

Absolutely wonderful stay!

The guesthouse was spotless, cozy, and full of charm. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our visit special. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a warm and relaxing getaway!

We loved our stay.

The Craggs cottage nice ,clean, kitchen well equipped, was game changing with washing machine/dryer with 3 kids expecially with the baby. We had a warm welcome from Kirsty with a beautiful christmas tree ,christmas cookies. Heating was warm enough for this cold days. We loved the fireplace. Kids liked to explore the farm and visit animals every day and our dog enjoyed the big garden too. I highly recommend this beautiful cottage. We are definitely back in summer time.

This is a lovely place to stay.

It is on a working farm, and has all amenities you would need for a relaxing stay. We went to Edinburgh, Holy Island and Bamburgh, and Kelso is a good place to see. The view from Smailholm Keep just up the road is wonderful. The cottage has a real fire and a Reyburn stove / boiler, great for a cold week in Scotland. The fruit cake baked by Kirsty was a real treat when we arrived. Overall it was a lovely relaxing break.

Craggs Cottage really is the perfect getaway, beautiful cottage fully equipped with everything you could need.

The location is just stunning with lovely views and very peaceful. I think the bed is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Recommend 100%

It is very well equipped and fitted out with a cosy feel. The owner has made sure that the cottage is looked after to a high standard. We therefore highly recommend the cottage.

A wonderful cottage situated in a beautiful part of Kelso.

The views are as amazing as the livestock. There is everything you could ask in the cottage with modern utilities. The farmers wife and husband are very pleasant and helpful checking everything is okay and if we needed anything. Nice surprise cake on arrival 9.5 ( you know why lol). We would highly recommend this as we have been in a few and this one is one of the best.

A lovely quiet cottage on a farm.

Very well equipped and furnished. The owner was welcoming and helpful. Very comfortable and warm. We had a very good week, and even the weather behaved.

We never had such a beautiful holiday home and if we ever go to Scotland again, we will come back for sure!

Very clean and warm property, had everything we needed and more and cakes were nice touch on arrival. Owner very friendly and helpful and great to hear and see some of the day to day workings on the farm.

Cottage has everything you need to relax. Very clean and warm but with cozy living room and is situated on a lovely farm with great views. Cottage is close to a lot of lovely small towns and there is loads to explore in the Borders/England. I would definitely be looking for this cottage again when exploring the same area in future years.

Crags cottage is a home from home.

It was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy and very comfortable. Everything was catered for and it was equipped to a high standard. We felt very welcome on the farm which is quiet and peaceful with beautiful scenery. We had a lovely holiday and the welcome cake was gorgeous . Thank you Kirsty.

Our stay at Craggs Cottage was second to none!

The cottage was well appointed with all the amenities and had everything we needed for an enjoyable week. We loved the fact it was a working farm. We enjoyed watching the sheep and cows and seeing the farm. We also appreciated the conversations we had with the family about the operations and animals. Being able to see the prize rams up close was a particular highlight.

Clean, well equipped and comfortable cottage situated in a very quiet and peaceful part of the Scottish Borders where there is plenty to see and do.

It is also a good walking area with several waymarked paths. The owners were very friendly, helpful and were also very informative about the farm.

What a beautiful cottage!

We really enjoyed our week’s stay at Craggs Cottage. We really appreciated the ease of check in after a long drive up. The cottages were also signposted from the road so easy to find. Upon arrival there was a freshly baked fruit cake waiting for us, which was very much appreciated! The cottage had its charm but was also very well furnished and had everything you could think of. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely and the beds and sofas were so comfortable. Lovely views over the farm’s fields both from the front and back of the property. Another plus for us was a freestanding fridge freezer with plenty of space. We left a day early due to a late night event in Northumberland and we were sad to leave! The property is genuinely the best we’ve stayed out and we would happily return. Thank you to Kirsty for being such a great host!

This was our second time at the cottage and we had a lovely relaxing time.

The cottage was lovely and had been renovated since our last time. There . Great place to relax, surrounded by beautiful scenery and plenty of farm animals. The owners were so friendly and helpful especially when our car wouldn’t start. Can’t praise the cottage or the owners enough. Hopefully back again soon

Very relaxing. It’s a beautiful cottage, home from home with everything you need. The owners are attentive, you couldn’t ask for anything more. Wonderful farm with plenty to see. Great location for exploring the local area, Edinburgh and the East Coast. Would highly recommend.

A really lovely cottage.

Clean and very well equipped. Our only problem was discovering that the bathroom is 17 stairs down from the 2 main bedrooms! This isn’t made clear in the description of the cottage. Apart from this, a lovely holiday setting on a well kept farm.

Fantastic cottage in an awesome location!

We had a great week at Craggs Cottage, nestled on the farm in beautiful countryside, perfect for a 2 and 6 year old who loved the animals on their doorstep! The cottage is well presented, has very comfy beds and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The garden was great and with the excellent weather we were able to eat out each night. Fantastic location for Kelso, Floors castle, even a trip up to the kelpies, and didn't feel touristy at all. Would recommend!

Thankyou Kirstie for the extra help. It was so quiet and peaceful and an absolutely fabulous bed and amazing big fluffy towels. Kitchen was VERY well equipped and should we be back in the area we would be sure to book again.

Visiting local towns,villages and attractions was a delight.

The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped, and Kirsty and Alan are brilliant hosts.

Our little boy is mad about tractors and so they gave us a tour of the farm and even allowed us to sit in the cab of the combine harvester. Beautiful location and lots to explore in the Tweed valley.

The cottage was great, lovely and cosy.

Open fire was lovely and to come home in the evening and sit down to an open fire was bliss.

We had such a cosy and fun week at Craggs Cottage.

My kids loved a wee taste of life on the farm and the owners went out of their way to make it nice for us, with even a fruit loaf to welcome us. We have never been to the Borders and loved exploring the local area, will definitely be back to see some more of it. Beautiful area!

The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful spot, is super comfy and our dog loved the fields surrounding plus the large enclosed garden.

Wonderful, welcoming host who provided all we needed and more. Lots to see and do locally with scope to strike out further also into the Scottish lowlands which we did on a day trip. Have returned home chilled and rested. Thankyou!

Craggs cottage was the best cottage we have ever stayed in.

It was so comfortable and spotlessly clean. The beds provided ultimate comfort and the bedding and towels were like new. The garden was perfect too, well maintained and ideal for our dog. The views from the windows and the garden were stunning and we enjoyed watching the sheep. Kirsty welcomed us as we settled in, she was so kind and helpful, such a lovely lady, she had baked us a delicious fruit cake which we enjoyed with our first cup of tea, she certainly is a very good cake baker. I would highly recommend Craggs cottage, it is perfect.

Fantastic location Cottage met all our needs and on arrival Kirsty had made us a lovely chocolate cake to welcome us.

A very friendly host and family who love to show you the farm and give suggestions of things to do.

The only downside is the WiFi is temperamental which could be a negative to some. I do not think the photos do justice of how lovely and big the cottage is and how pretty the surrounding area is. Would highly recommend and go back in future.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful,we enjoyed being on their farm they always made time to chat to us when they met us although it was harvest time for them.

Most enjoyable for our grandson,highly recommend.
