What guests are saying
A lovely cosy cottage, it has everything you could ask for.
It's smack bang in the middle of nowhere but near enough to everything. No4, the kitchen is a good size & has a plethora of crockery, glasses & cutlery. There is even a just " in case " drawer filled with glue, tape, spanners, etc. The lounge is bright, but comfy cosy, & the understair well has a box with lots of games etc There's a shelf with a selection of books & something to play music on ( I didn't look too close at that ) Up the stairs, which as you've seen from the pictures are curved, I'm disabled, but I managed quite easily to get up & down. The bathroom, large with a bath & overhead shower. The toilet. Unfortunately the toilet is heavily stained, this is due to the water & not to anything else. Bedrooms, there are 2 rooms one with a double bed which faces to the front of the house & the other with 2 single beds which looks out onto the back of the property. Both have beautiful views over farmland in the morning & early evening. If like us you get a break where the weather is atrocious, this cottage is so cosy & relaxing, we really cannot say how much we enjoyed our stay here. We did manage to walk the dog ! On a couple of clear nights the heavens were magnificent. They showed every constellation they held, & not a sound did we hear. It's a lovely place to stay for a short break but next time we're staying longer !
We were advised on our way to the property that there was a problem with the Internet that BT were trying to resolve.
The main TV was Sky Glass that did not have a back up Terrestrial aerial and so would not work. The bed was not a particularly comfortable one and laying on it to watch small tv in bedroom was not an option. The Internet was not fixed during our stay and the owners did not make much effort to update us or offer an apology. Skyes have us a refund which covered the expenditure on extra mobile data we used. I have never experienced such a casual and unconcerned attitude from an owner on the Sykes, or any other similar Website. I understand it may have been a BT problem, but that doesn't mean an owner can't show some level of care for a customers disappointment. They should have a back up cable to main TV installed.
The cottage is absolutely lovely, and situated in a lovely location ideal as a base for witch to explore the area
