"Excellent location, lovely ensuite and bedroom."
Property needs more towels, only one each for a week and one tea towel! Not enough crockery, settee very uncomfortable, needs handles on cupboards.
The hob fan filters needs to be cleaned they are very soiled and the cottage smells of old cooking fat.
On a positive the village is brilliant, very peaceful, two great pubs , butchers and bakery.
Thank you for your feedback, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay, Norham is a special place and 8 Pedwell part of that history. I have let our lovely, local cleaner know about the smell you mentioned. She works so hard to make sure the cottage is ready for each guest, as you can see from all the positive feedback, but she will look into it immediately.

"The location of 8 Pedwell Way is excellent: Norham is a delightful village with an excellent shop, two pubs, an active church and a weekly visit from the fish and chip van."
It is very close to the River Tweed, with plenty of good walks around.
The accommodation was very clean and tidy, and the wine and shortbread were much appreciated. There were some things we would have liked to see in the kitched area, though, such as microwaveable containers, and space to store food. There was an adequate but minimal amount of crockery and cutlery, so the dishwasher was redundant. Also the table was quite small for two people to eat comfortably.
In the bedroom, there were no drawers and a minimum of coat hangers. The bathroom facilities and the wifi/television was good.
Despite these minor quibbles, we had a very enjoyable holiday.
We are so glad you share the love of Norham and our beautiful cottage. It is a truly special place and we always try to ensure all our guests expectations are met.

Location in the village perfect, nice pub around the corner with good food, appreciated the welcome pack. Kitchen quite functional but would rather have had a good storage cupboard rather than a full size dishwasher. Over all a good stay in a fabulous area. T

"Perfect location for both Scotland and Northumbria."
Around the corner for an amazing walk. Butchers on your doorstep that does bacon butters. Fish and chip van on a Thursday. Accommodation was nice and cozy. Beautifully decorated. Had all the amenities you could beef. Wishing machine, dishwasher, compact fridge. There wasn’t much storage for dried food but we kept ours in a bag. Complimentary tea and coffee was a nice touch. Nice and warm with smart tv if you wanted to curl up at night. Quiet surroundings to get a good night sleep. Shower was nice and hot, not very powerful but did the job. There is no back garden if you have dogs but plenty of places to take them out on your doorstep. Very enjoyable stay. Would definitely book again.
Thank you for taking the time to create feedback about your stay. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit and appreciated all the work that goes into making sure the property meets everyones needs and expectations.

"We had a lovely week at Pedwell really well situated in the village."
The house was lovely and warm and quite well equipped. The wine and shortbread were very welcome. We could have just done with a sweeping brush to get all the bits up without bringing the vacuum downstairs all the time and a grab rail for the shower would make it feel safer. I can't understand why we have not been to Norham before after going up 3 or 4 times a year. Fascinating castle and it's history. The river Tweed down the lane was lovely, and the river bankwalk was tranquil. We visited the church and chatted to the warden we could even take our dog inside. Brilliant Sunday roast at the Masons arms and another meal there later in the week. Everyone was so friendly.
We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay in Norham, it is a beautiful village and Pedwell right at its heart. Thank you for your feedback and we take on board your suggestions.

"Love this property."
We stayed last year and loved it so much we decided to come back. The house has everything you could want. It's lovely and relaxing and we love the village. The village has a local shop as well as a bakery and pub . Beautiful walks and of course the Castle with all its history.
Norham is close to lots of Northumberland and plenty of places to visit. Both Alnwick and Bamburgh Castle are a short drive away. As is Holy Island and Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Also plenty of Scottish towns and places of interest nearby.
It was nice after a very busy day to come back to the cottage and read and relax . Loved that the cottage is right opposite the local church which if you walk through will take you right down to the river.
One last thing to note was my husband accidentally shut the front door with our housekey inside. We rang Sykes up who contacted the owner.
The problem was sorted so quickly and it was nice and reassuring to know .
Thank you for your positive review, Pedwell is right at the heart of a beautiful area with so much to offer, we would love to welcome you back for your third visit!

"Lovely, comfortable, well laid out cottage set in a picturesque and friendly village."
A nice touch to have prosecco and shortbread laid out - thank you :) A good living area space with great sofa and the kitchen was well equipped. Some firelighters would have been nice however, as it was a bit chilly in the evening. Parking directly outside the cottage. Norham is a great location for exploring the wider area (Berwick/Bamburgh/Holy Island) and only a couple of minutes on foot to a beautiful river walk.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our cottage, Norham is a special place.

"We enjoyed our stay but there are a few things we would like to raise: we were surprised that there wasn't a pint of milk in the fridge."
All the other cottages we have hired do this. Little things like salt, pepper, and tinfoil are usual too. I noticed that people commented about this regularly in the visitors book. Black out curtains in the bedroom would be good especially in the summer. The sofa is vert uncomfortable especially if you are tall. The fact that the kitchen units didn't have handles was a pain too. There are a couple of great pubs in the village and a fantastic shops: butcher, Baker and general store.
We are glad you found some things to delight you in Norham, we endeavour to provide what we can for our guests to ensure a pleasurable stay and hope you enjoyed your sparkling wine and biscuits. We are a self catered cottage and as you mentioned, in a well resourced village with everything within easy walking distance.

"This is a very clean and well presented property in a lovely village."
Excellent local butchers and wine shop, bakery and small general store. Riverside walks along the Tweed were delightful. I stayed with my 2 dogs and the proximity to the Churchyard was invaluable first thing on a morning. The main problem I experienced was the dreadfully uncomfortable sofa. When you sat on it you were about a foot off the floor and there was absolutely no support for your back. It was largely due to this that I cut my holiday short and returned home early. If the weather had been better and I didn’t need to be in the house I would have stayed longer. The other item lacking is a rubber mat for the floor of the shower. Excellent shower, extremely slippy surface.
What a shame the weather was challenging, we are glad you enjoyed our cottage and made use of the facilities. We have provided a anti-slip shower mat after your feedback in case anyone else is worried about slipping.

"We very much enjoyed our stay at No."
8, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. It was a lovely gesture to leave Prosecco and cakes for us on our arrival. It was a great base for exploring Northumberland, Bamburgh Castle and Seahouses were particular highlights. As was the nearby town of Berwick.
There were only a couple of things to consider, a little clothes airer might be useful and we couldn’t open the downstairs window, to let fresh air in. Other than that, the cottage was everything you could want. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family.
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in Norham at our little cottage, there is a rich history to be discovered in the village itself and surrounding area.

The staircase is steep but this is an old house so not everything is standard. I’ve got a heart condition and managed taking it slowly but it would be useful to have another bannister

It was cool when arrived but was quickly warmed. It would benefit from extra storage for food items as there was just the fridge and a shelf so it made getting a shop in for the five days a bit of a juggle.
The owner was very helpful when i contacted her and sent helpful information about local beaches. We were right near the walks on the river Tweed and our dogs loved that! Local people were very friendly and welcoming too. The local church chimed the hour but not after midnight and early hours, which was really quaint. We would definitely book again.

"Lovely little very clean, tidy, well appointed cottage in a wonderful village in a beautiful area."
There the ruined Norham Castle which you pass on the way into the village. The river Tweed literally a quarter of a mile down the lane. Wonderful river walks. The local pub The Masons Arms provides great food but you need to book. We will definitely come again. Three days nothing like enough time.
The only criticism with the cottage is the information pack with seems to be generic. Stating a quick walk to the beach which is actually around 20 miles away. It states that electrical instructions are kept in the kitchen but there aren't any. Had to leave the kitchen bin rubbish bag in the hall because there isn't a refuse bin on the property.
Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are glad to hear you made it to the beaches of Bamburgh and Holy Island, they are worth the drive! We are sorry you didn't find the bin, it is kept in the side alley to preserve the beauty of the village. as directed in the instructions for departure sent out by Sykes.
