"Lovely comfy cottage."
Just as described. So quiet and peaceful and if like me and my dog, you want to escape from the horrendous fireworks that seem to be going on forever, then I would highly recommend that you try the cottage. In the countryside but still near the coast in beautiful Northumberland.

"We loved our stay at Roddam cottage."
Welcome package was a nice touch. Lovely spot in the middle of nowhere with sheep as neighbours
-
"Great location, quiet and easy access for local walking."
The 'welcome goodies' were very welcome! Generally very comfortable, but we found the kitchen equipment somewhat limited. Multi-fuel stove was great, but we found the central heating hard to program, despite the instructions, and ended up simply turning it on manually. Good shower. Dining arrangements are a bit awkward in that there is no table, but ok if don't mind eating from your lap. Plenty of space for the two of us.

"The property was excellent just large enough for two people and a dog."
The basic provisions provided were totally unexpected but nonetheless very welcome after a 6 hour journey. Even the dog was thought of with a bowl of water waiting at the foot of the steps which she immediately found and had a good drink. The starter kit for the log burner was also very thoughtful so we didn’t need to go back out looking for fuel. All in all everything had been well thought out so it was home from home. Thank you.

"Excellent cottage , extremely comfortable and quiet."
It’s off the beaten track but that’s what appealed to me. Nice to have access to private walks with lake. Will be booking again next year !

"It was a very nice house and in a very quiet location."
Karen was very helpful and easy to talk with, I would definitely recommend this property for a nice few days away so quiet and peaceful,

"We really enjoyed our stay at 1 Roddam Rigg."
The property was quite straightforward to find by following the directions given, and it was so wonderfully away from the hustle and bustle of towns and villages. We'd wanted a base to explore Northumberland but somewhere quiet to come back to to chill out and that's what we found here. We had days out at local English Heritage castles Dunstanburgh and Warkworth and enjoyed a day on Bamburgh beach which were all easy enough to drive to. We were very pleasantly surprised on arrival as in real life the cottage and the garden are even lovelier than the photos. A thoughtful welcome hamper was gratefully appreciated (thank you!) and Karen the owner was kind enough to bring us some board games round that we could play with our young son as well. The fresh bowl of water by the front steps was a very welcome touch for our thirsty dog after the car journey! The cottage itself was spotless, comfortable and well-equipped. Very handy to have a smart TV that we could use with our own logins to access apps such as Netflix while relaxing on an evening. It was too warm for us to light the fire although this was all ready with fuel provided (I imagine it would be lovely in the winter months!). The cottage with its thick walls stayed nice and cool inside although it got quite warm outside during our week there, so we slept really well. The beds are so comfy. We'd only been there a short while before our son (7) announced we should move in permanently! If only! Lots of wildlife around and we saw plenty of hares on the lanes around the cottage. The garden was beautiful and a really great size, our son and our dog really loved running around enjoying themselves while we relaxed at the garden table with a cold drink. Would visit again and would definitely recommend.

"Excellent Property, especially the secure dog garden, and 'walkies' from the door, The welcome pack was really extensive, (Tea, Coffee, Milk, Butter, Biscuit, Fruit)."
Well equipped with Microwave and airfryer. The road for the last 1.5 miles is a bit rough, but taken slowly, not a problem. we will return

"Cosy comfy pleasant environment."
Very clean. Friendly owner. Very enjoyable stay. Would recommend. Thank you for a nice week.
-
"Comfy, cosy and warm especially with the wood burner going."
The welcome pack was gratefully received, saved going out the day we arrived to find somewhere to eat. Lovely walks around the farm and the wildlife was unbelievable and a useful marketing tool for the farm. Very close to so many visitor attractions too.

"1 Rodham Rigg cottage is a small, lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings."
Off the beaten track and in a very peaceful & pretty spot. The cottage is very clean & well equipped. Comfy beds, a woodburner for chilly evenings, a welcome pack which was much appreciated. Everything you need for a relaxing, quiet and revitalising break. We loved our 4 night stay and the cottage was a great base to explore the glorious Northumberland coast and countryside from. Karen was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely go back and highly recommend the cottage. We saw so much wildlife, it was amazing - hares, rabbits, an owl, lots of pheasants and partridges as well as the sheep. A truly magical spot for those who love the great outdoors.
-
"A lovely little cottage surrounded by amazing peaceful views."
The cottage was like a home from home well equipped with everything we needed (and the welcome basket was a lovely little bonus too). The owners were extremely helpful too and were on hand if we needed anything.
-
"Charming cottage, lovely outlook from garden, remote and quiet."
Bathroom may be a bit small if your a big person

"We had a wonderful holiday at Roddam Rigg cottage."
The accommodation is very comfortable with everything you need for a home from home stay. You are out in the middle of beautiful countryside- peace and wildlife and yet it is not far by car to the main road. There is lots to see, whether you love coast or countryside. The log burner was much appreciated after a day exploring! Thank you to Karen for her hospitality.

"We had a wonderful stay at Roddam Rigg Cottage, so peaceful, a place to go if you want to get away from it all."
The views are beautiful. The Cottage is not too far from local attractions. Owners are warm and welcoming & very helpful.

"A lovely cottage set in peaceful surroundings."
We had our own huge garden which was ideal for sitting out in the sunshine after a long day sightseeing. The garden was very secure so we didn't have to worry about our dog wandering off. The accommodation was very comfortable although the bathroom was a bit tiny and the toilet was fitted too close to the wall. The welcome package was brilliant, everything was provided for our needs. I would definitely stay here again and will mention to friends who want to visit the area.

"Lovely place & stay."
Fantastic welcome pack.Beautiful garden & surrounding countryside. Very pleasant owner. Only downside a very small bathroom but would recommend to anyone.Thank you
-
"A lovely cottage that is fairly remote and away from general light pollution and thus when you get a clear night sky you can appreciate the magnificence of the night sky and stars."
The only negatives were the small fridge (being remote a bigger fridge would have been nice) and the bed was rather soft for our liking, otherwise fine.

"We had a lovely stay here."
The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The welcome pack was the best we have had with the fresh fruit being particularly appreciated. The isolated location made itvperfect for seeing wildlife, especially hares and the local barn owl. It was an ideal centre for visits - Hadrian's Wall, Holy Island, Cragside, Bamburgh Castle, Wallington. We also found good Italian and Indian restaurants in Alnwick. Highly recommended.
-
"A beautifully situated property in a wonderful part of the country."
Close to many great places to visit and Karen & Michael are extremely attentive hosts.
-
"A lovely small well equipped and immaculately clean cottage in an idyllic setting."
The host,Karen, provided a very generous welcome basket and was always on hand if we needed anything. It’s a great location for resident wildlife, we had hare in the garden and one morning a flock of over a hundred field fare in the pasture next to us. Do not be deterred by the location, the roads to the cottage are very quiet and easily navigated. We have no hesitation in recommending it.
-
"Very happy to recommend this lovely holiday cottage in a very peaceful setting."
Friendly and helpful owner.
-
"A really lovely little cottage."
Exactly what we needed to get away from it all. The welcome pack was very good - above and beyond what we’ve ever had before! Small but perfectly formed. Ideal for couples.
-
"Perfect little cottage in a remote quiet area to escape the New Years fireworks."
-
"A comfortable, well equipped cottage for a relaxing break."
We spent Christmas tucked away in the lovely cottage. The owners trimmed the cottage and put up a tree for our stay. A large welcome package of essentials and treats were a welcome surprise. A large comfortable bed awaits after a long day spent exploring the area. The kitchen was well equipped to handle our Christmas dinner with all the trimmings too. A great location for exploring the coast and countryside around the North east of Northumbria, with the Scottish border towns not far away too. There was plenty of wildlife in the are too, Deer, Hares, Birds of prey amongst the many things we saw. If your looking for a rural cottage in a quiet location, but with access to the many attractions in the area, with beautiful dark skies to star gaze too, then I would highly recommend this location.
-
"It was further from the main road than we had anticipated."
It was not a problem as there are two roads leading up to the cottage and they are quite well maintained. The plus is that you stay in the middle of the glorious Northumberland countryside in complete peace only surrounded by one or two farms and the wildlife. With good Wi-Fi and a good mobile signal it was a very relaxing break.
-
"Great location, peaceful, clean , nice welcome pack, handy enclosed garden for the dog, well equipped cottage"
-
"Spotlessly clean, all to a very high standard, Karen and Michael very welcoming."
Extremely peaceful and convenient base from which to explore the area. It's a smallish cottage, with no room for a kitchen table/ dining table. But, as a party of 3 adults, the breakfast bar was the only aspect which was a bit cramped for us. Again, as 3 adults, a slightly larger additional saucepan and/ or steamer would have been useful for us. And perhaps a teapot. But, other than that, very well equipped. Otherwise, a perfect and very cosy, comfortable home-from-home: a pleasure to return to after a day out!
-
"The cottage was in a fantastic countryside location and is perfect for exploring the coastal and other areas of Northumberland."
It was very clean, comfortable and well-kept, with good amenities. A generous welcome basket awaited us on arrival, and the host was really friendly and helpful. The good-sized enclosed garden was excellent for relaxing after a day out (and for our dog to play ball!) and it's very good at night too for star gazing.
-
"This is a wonderful small country cottage in a beautiful location to visit Northumberland, both hills and coast."
The cottage is warm, clean and provides all essentials to make your stay easy. The added amenities really appreciated - bread, eggs, jam, milk biscuits etc.
-
"We were very pleased with our stay in this cottage, which was presented to a very high standard."
There was a comprehensive 'get you in' pack including bread, milk, jam. tea, coffee and biscuits and enough firelighters, kindling. logs and coal to last several nights. The heating had been turned on too, and Karen met us on arrival with fresh eggs. Overall: excellent.
-
"Lovely cottage set in beautiful surroundings."
it was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Complimentary basket and fresh eggs were greatly appreciated. Look forward to visiting again and enjoying sitting in the private garden.
-
"Great place!"
Loved it, very clean, comfortable bed and sofa, great to have the smart TV. Lovely welcome pack left for us. The location was absolutely beautiful, our dog loved the lovely enclosed garden. Thank you, will definitely be back!
-
"We had a wonderful break at this beautifully presented cottage."
It was all immaculately clean and the welcome pack (including local eggs) was most appreciated. The area is beautiful and very interesting. We will be back!
-
"Lovely clean remote cottage, very comfortable."
We really enjoyed our stay there it’s an amazing area. A couple of things to improve stay would be more kitchen supplies like a grater and egg cups especially as fresh eggs were on offer. Also access to a washing machine and dryer as its remote walks are muddy, clothes might need a swill through and somewhere to dry. Generally tho a wonderful get a way from the rat race!!
-
"A warm welcome on arrival and thoughtful provisions were a lovely surprise."
The cottage is a delight with every amenity we required. A fabulous setting and a base to explore glorious countryside but at a pace suited to the most relaxing break whether walking the hills or on the coast.
-
"Loved the cottage."
Exceedingly clean. Decor lovely. Exceedingly cosy. Perfect for us.
-
"The personal touch on arriving - bowl of fruit, eggs, bread milk ."
Plus the extra helpfulness of person overseeing cottage . She was brilliant!

"Fantastic small cottage set on a private estate."
