"The Station Master’s House was a truly wonderful place to stay and Fiona and Colin were extremely welcoming and went over and above to make sure were were comfortable and had everything we needed."
The place was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm and well equipped, ideal for a family group such as we were. The location is very rural and peaceful with lovely walks from the house but also nearby to national parks and landscapes , walks , MTB paths and places of historic interest. For a keep photographer like me it was paradise, especially with the locomotive, trucks, rails and platform all still in place. And of course the highlight for us was seeing the badgers and fox in the garden every night. What a treat! Highly recommend.

"Fantastic stay at Saughtree Station, a very unique destination with its own train!"
From arrival to departure we were made to feel really welcome. The accommodation is very spacious with high quality furnishings and extremely well equipped, which made our stay there very comfortable. Lots of local walks around and plenty of books and guides in the house for inspiration. Would highly recommend.

"Great location with walks from the door along the old railway trackbed."
The good cycle and walking paths around Kielder Water are about 20min away.
The access road to the property is fine with a bit of care and only a few hundred meters from the main road.
The property is very well presented with good quality appliances and the owners next door are friendly and helpful.Fantastic selection of railway themed books.
Would certainly recommend if you want to stay somewhere which is a bit out of the ordinary.

"We loved and enjoyed our stay."
It was special. We did have two concerns though, as follows.
1. The access track was a but rough, with a curved surface, our concern being on potential grounding of the car. We were careful, and nothing happened. The nature of the track was reasonably clear in the property description and access advice, so this was not a surprise.
2. It was clear that the property was semi-detached. But we were concerned that the platform onto which the windows of both the lounge and main bedroom looked, was a shared space with the B&B. Our worry was that this could lead to an intrusion into our privacy. We took a chance. As it turned out there were no guests at the B&B and there was no intrusion. Having the platform to ourselves enhanced our enjoyment.
Hi James,
Thank you for your honest feedback. We are so pleased that you loved your stay with us and that your concerns didn't affect your enjoyment. We do make people aware about the access track and there is no longer a B and B although getting Google and such like to amend details is proving challenging.
Kind regards,
Fiona and Colin

"We absolutely loved this property."
It was a wrench to leave and return home. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, this is the place for you. Relaxing in comfort, with everything you could possibly want. Being able to watch the badgers and foxes come to the garden at dusk for their supper was fascinating. On a clear night, the telescope enables you to view the night sky. A big thank you to the cottage owners Fiona & Colin.

"Absolutely fabulous place to stay!"
Having been drawn in by the location, the description and the photos, we were blown away with how much more Station Masters House had to offer than even apparent.
If you enjoy nature, walks, trains, a stay here should be on your list. If you enjoy photography or stargazing (hoping for clearer skies next time!) you should definitely visit. If you enjoy friendly, generous and knowledgeable hosts, a stay here is a must.
We enjoyed exploring the paths of the old railway line, the nearby historical sites plus being such a short distance to Kielder water and forest, and with wildlife literally on the doorstep! And all this with a beautifully kept, well-appointed and hugely thematic home to cosy up in of an evening.
Really wished we could have stayed for longer and hope to visit again soon - we will be remembering and talking about our stay at Station Masters House for a long time!
Hi Ben,

"A cosy cottage where you can just forget the world and just enjoy peace and quiet."
Pictureque views, quiet moments and time to reflect. I can truly say the stay there was special, and with the history of the site, it made it that much better.
Owned by lovely friendly owners Fiona & Colin.
p.s - this cottage is extremely rural, in case that is not ideal for you. It can be a bit tricky for phone calls, navigation, amenities etc, but sometimes thats what life is about! Worth going outside your comfort zone sometimes.
Thank you for your lovely review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay once you got over the remoteness!
