About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

This group of properties is extremely well placed for exploring the outstanding natural beauty of the Northumberland coast and the Northumberland National Park. Explore the beautiful unspoilt countryside, hills, ancient woodlands, sandy beaches, and a plethora of pathways for walking and cycling.

The historic Alnwick Castle which was built following the Norman Conquest is the home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Complete with staterooms and formal gardens it boasts Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a delightful rose and ornamental walled garden, as well as cafes and shops. The castle is also famous as the setting of Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films.

Alnwick's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stagecoach passed through. It offers many shops, pubs, and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do.

There are many nearby sandy beaches for family day trips offering an expansive variety of water sports including surfing, swimming, fishing, & kayaking. Also numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne islands nearby.

A truly exceptional retreat in the heart of Northumberland.
