  • "We enjoyed every minute of our 5 night stay."

Flat was so cosy and comfortable we felt right at home from arrival. Flat was immaculate with everything you could need supplied. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay in this lovely flat in beautiful Alnmouth.

Thank you for your glowing review! We are delighted that you found the flat to be so comfortable and well equipped. We hope you will make a return visit to A Stone’s Throw in the future. Property Owner

  • "Third time we have stayed in Stones throw."

Usually only problem was uncomfortable beds in twin room. This time the toilet was blocked and filled to the top if flushed. This was the case from first use I tried using the plunger and drain unblocker then contacted you but it was never fixed. Also did find the sofas and beds were thick with dust underneath. I cleaned some and removed two kids socks.under bed in twin room. These minor things don't bother me but toilet not working does. As we need the two with 5 staying.one left to stay in B +B. in the area as a result. more expense! Hope for better next time. regards Patricia.

  • "Unfortunately we found the property to be in desperate need of a deep clean."

The area leading up to the property is tired and grubby. Bin and fridge filthy, cobwebs, washing machine mouldy etc. Looking at recent reviews this is an ongoing issue. They offered us £100 towards a dinner on the last day as compensation. Feels inadequate

  • "We were dismayed to discover thick dust on top of the bed head board ,crumbs in the cutlery tray and dog hairs on the settee."

No blankets or throws anywhere in the property. The entrance area and yard is untidy and the stairs foisty . The “en-suite” is far too cramped, the mattresses far too hard and no comfortable bed.

  • "Lovely clean property, well equipt, slight markings on douvet cover and pillow case."

Loved the book and dvd selection available. Unable to locate blue linen bag upon leaving for used bedding and towels, did have a slight issue with key and key safe (used old key safe first). Well equipt for dogs, loved the personaal touches. Slighlty supprised there was no leaflets in folder for attractions in the area. Overall would highly recomend.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We take on board your comments, and have fed back the issue about marks on the bedding. There are some leaflets in the apartment, but perhaps not in a visible enough spot, so we will look at rectifying this. We hope you had a lovely stay. Property Owner

  • "Terrible experience didn’t stay a single night, now trying to get refund from owner."

Thank you for your comments; we consider all guest feedback carefully. I hope those viewing the property on the website will also take a moment to look at the many positive reviews. I’m pleased that the guests before and shortly after your visit were so pleased they have already rebooked for next year. We apologise that, on a busy turnaround day, the cleaning team had missed a small number of things but are pleased that they recognised this and remedied them so very quickly. The dust under the sofa and the double bed clearly troubled you given the number of photos. That, and the dust on the small heater, have long since been remedied. I am sorry that there was an issue with a blockage in the dishwasher. These things can happen but I am pleased that we were able to have a plumber on site and the issue remedied in less than 24 hours. Thank you again for your comments and the photographs. • "There was a lot of building work going on to the house where the flat was."

The house was covered in scaffolding and with the skips being outside, this took up three potential parking spaces. The builders started early and were noisy throughout the day. We were not warned of this disruption either at the time of booking or before we arrived at the property which we feel was wrong.

The facilities team and Jill in particular were extremely kind and most helpful especially when we managed to lock ourselves out of the property on Xmas Eve! The property was very warm and the kitchen was especially well stocked for equipment and glasses etc. The property had ample space for a family of five and dog and very conveniently located for access to the beach.

  • "We have just had a 4 day break in the lovely ‘A Stones Throw’ apartment which was lovely."

It had 3 spacious bedrooms, a fabulous master bedroom. There was a very well equipped kitchen a lovely large dining room which was big enough to accommodate a family comfortably. Very well decorated, clean and the owners have provided lots of dvd’s, books and games as well as access to Netflix for those cold/rainy days and bowls and towels for our four legged friends which was a nice touch. Only one slight criticism, there was some mould around the bath and in the on-suite shower room which reduced my score, apart from that we had a really lovely relaxed break in a lovely village thank you

  • "A very clean and pleasant apartment which is in a very good location."

We had a slight problem finding it and some locals guided us there, as its further up the hill and around the corner than we thought. The apartment is well stocked with utencils- dishwasher tablets and washing poda we're provided. Thankyou for the milk and scones! There was a bit of a problem with getting hot water in the bath, so had to carry it from the kitchen for my young granddaughter. Also one of the single mattresses needs replacing. The twin room is a bit small for two adults, but we managed and enjoyed our stay.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay - thank you for your positive feedback. We are sorry that one of the single beds was uncomfortable - thanks to your feedback this problem has now been rectified. Property Owner

  • "It is a lovely, well equipped apartment in a quiet street with plenty of space for 5 people."

We loved it. It was let down unfortunately by the daily noise from the building work going on in the house directly at the back of the property plus the lack of privacy this caused (the main bedroom window faces onto the property). We couldn't have the windows open very often and, given the heatwave we've just had, this wasn't ideal. The building work also meant the windows were really dirty too.

The beds are extremely comfortable! It's in an ideal spot for exploring the Northumbria coast, both on foot and by car, as well as for venturing inland. Alnwick is only 3 miles away and has a good selection of shops, plus a good retail park with supermarkets if needed. • "The apartment is in an ideal location being so close to the beach."

The only problem is the parking as it does not have its own parking space which means that you have to rely on the free roadside parking spaces and these parking spaces are quickly taken so that using the car during the day can lead to you driving around playing "hunt the parking space" when you return.
