Maybe more mats at entrance so shoes don't go on carpet, near washing machine? Otherwise all fab

  • "We had a super stay in the Coach House."

Very comfortable beds. Good seating. Being able to have a parking space was essential to us and it was just outside the cottage so it was ideal. We loved Alnmouth itself, and we would like to stay again in the future. We would definitely book the Coach House again as it was so pleasant to stay in for a week with the living space planned just right.

  • "Great location just a short walk from shop, pubs and cafes, quiet and with the benefit of a parking space."

Wonderful coastal walks right from the village with many fantastic places to visit close by. Beautiful shared garden for good weather days. Very comfortable bed and good quality linen. Spotlessly clean. However, we felt there was the feel of a place managed from a distance, the few leaflets/guides were out of date, instructions very out of date and kitchen while generally well equipped needs new frying pans and prep knives are cheap and bendy. Bathroom door needs attention, a bit shaving off? It sticks.

The Agency are in the process of replacing all the information leaflets and frying pans and new sharp knives have been replaced. Thank you for your feedback which enables us to keep the cottage maintained to a high standard. Property Owner

Well equipped, comfortable bed in main bedroom. It was pleasant to have a bottle of wine awaiting us on arrival and to have milk in the fridge. We loved it.

It's quirky style, with lounge and kitchen upstairs, and main bedroom downstairs, serves to add to it's appeal. All items needed for cooking are provided as are towels and tea towels. And what a welcome surprise in finding a bottle of wine and nibbles waiting for us! Thank you.

It is in a quiet location, just off the main road through Alnmouth, close to pubs, restaurants and a great beach. The village shop is very well stocked. I would definitely recommend this property.

Although small, it had everything we needed including use of a beautiful private garden and a parking space (rare in Alnmouth). Very comfortable cottage, fully equipped, lovely hot shower and comfy beds. Already booked to return next year.

Thank you for the wine and Pringles! Fantastic location in the centre of the village. Very spacious for 2 people, maybe a bit tight for 4 adults. Good supply of crockery and cutlery in a well equipped kitchen. All perfect for the two of us really. Brilliant to have the parking space as it is a busy village and parking can be a challenge that we did not have to worry about. Also lovely to have access to the shared garden. Briefly met the owner who was lovely, thank you, we enjoyed our stay very much

  • "Very comfortable property; too much crockery and cutlery: not enough room for our own packed food."

Non stick frying pans in poor condition. Only one cleaning cloth in whole property. Lovely garden, but seats covered in bird droppings and no cushions. Were cushions available? Guidelines for the property were Covid based, out of date. Car parking adequate, but target of daily bird droppings!

We normally put the cushions out when weather is more settled (they were in a chest under pergola). The bird droppings get cleaned every week but we have a lot of wildlife in the garden - apologies for any inconvenience . Property Owner

  • "The description of the property, although accurate, didn't fully disclose where the property was."

We didn't expect to to be looked over from every window - we thought it would be more isolated. At some point in the past this would have been a lovely holiday cottage, but it's in desperate need of a refurbishment and some TLC. Virtually all the heaters are faulty and need replacing, we were only kept warm with the temporary oil heaters that were provided. The bathroom was freezing cold - the radiator only heated a third of the way up and the fan heater didn't work at all. Although it looks like a new shower has been fitted, with decent pressure, you can never get it very hot, to much pressure and no easy to turn it down so that it warms up properly - a plumber should be able to get that sorted very quickly. Need some extension leads so that you can plug in your phones, etc in the bedroom - only single power points and all in use with lamps. We rented another cottage from you last year for roughly the same price (night for night) and was absolutely thrilled with that cottage. However, The Coach House was an utter disappointment, for the reasons above and we feel that we were significantly overcharged for this unloved cottage. Small things make you feel that it's a great property - we were there only 3 days, but we had to go out and buy bin bags, silver foil, toilet rolls, extension leads and even salt. It feels the owners are simply keeping their costs to the minimum and not making our expensive break something to remember (for the right reasons). We really wished we'd booked the same cottage as last time - we will never come back to the coach house or recommend it! What should have been a lovely break to Alnmouth was soured by the poor accommodation.
