    The accommodation was clean, tidy, and in good condition throughout with ample furniture, appliances, and kitchen needs. Separate bathroom and ensure added to a comfortable stay. We all had wonderful holiday and are looking at booking again for next year.

    A good base to explore the area. The builders working in the area were considerate and posed no problems during our stay. Disappointed with the lack of local eateries, which were mostly closed or only opened on specific days.

  • "Hi We have just returned from our ,supposed to be restful holiday."

    Your statement in the email below Whilst we don't envisage this causing you any disruption it does look unsightly Well it did cause us disruption every day. At 07:50 the builders came on site and turned the generators on, which was less than 20 feet from the front door of Schooner 1, this was a constant annoyance not to mention the diesel fumes from the exhaust which meant we had to have the windows shut during the day. There was also constant movement of plant equipment lifting pallets of bricks etc causing noise and the general noise caused by 15 men working. Some days we couldn’t even get out of the front door due to delivery lorries , with cranes , lifting pallets of blocks and wood blocking the drive and so close to our car. We also have to keep the curtains of the only window of the flats living room closed as builders walked past and looked in so not very relaxing at all. We feel that no one should be staying in the property at this time and that Northumbria Cottages misrepresented the closeness and the amount of construction work going on , not to mention the health and safety aspects . If you had been honest about the times of the disruption and the closeness we would have never booked.

  • "The location and Alnmouth beach is stunning and we spent much time locally on the beach and in the village."

    The village is quaint with some lovely friendly cafes and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed a meal at the Hope and Anchor. Alnwick Castle was spectacular to visit and was a huge hit for the children with all the activities. We loved Bamburgh Castle as well.

    When you open the door, so clean and lovely decor, also warm and welcoming! Lovely touch with biscuits milk etc. This property is in a great location and having parking is a plus. Enjoyed the beach too. We have already recommended it to friends and we will be back soon.

    The flat was impeccably clean and easy to keep tidy, enough space to move around in the kitchen/dining area, which was important because one of our party was in need of a walking aid. Kitchen equipment was excellent, so was the furniture in all the rooms. We also enjoyed the large collection of DVDs and books. The two separate bathrooms were better than expected. Very quiet location.

The property

Boasting an immaculate finish and enjoying a superb coastal location, Schooner Court No2 in Alnmouth, Northumberland is the ideal setting for a family holiday or for couples.

The open-plan living area offers plenty of space with an extensive seating area giving guests the perfect opportunity to gather together and get into the holiday vibe.

Double French doors help to flood the space with light and on sunny days, you can throw open the doors and let the outside in.

When tummies start to rumble, the chef will be pleased with the extensive kitchen which is fully fitted and has everything needed to produce hearty food for the whole holiday party.

The dining table is ready to go and you can imagine guests spending a lot of time in this spot, eating, drinking and generally putting the world to rights.

The patio is a sunny place where you can pull up a chair and soak up any rays while planning the day’s activities.

ALNMOUTH

Alnwick 4 miles.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.

The work is nearing completion, but it is anticipated that there will be some activity on the site through April and May, possibly with some final internal work in the summer. Neither the owners of Schooner Court 1 and 2 or Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages have any control over the neighbouring works and it may be that no disturbance at all is caused throughout your holiday but at some time during the midweek (work is not permitted at the weekend) there may be some activity.
