    “Amazing Autumn break”

A perfectly located property that was a great base for our family of 5. The property itself is immaculate and the way it’s decorated and furnished is really quite inspiring and quirky which we loved. Loads around the property for the kids to do- hide and seek and people watching from the windows went down particularly well but the pool table has probably never seen as much action. This was certainly a nice change from the usual demand for screens! The Lego, toy cars and sweets and treats on arrival were also a really nice welcoming touch. The hosts were really accommodating and the place felt really homely so much so that our 2 year old cried when we had to leave to come home. Loads to see and do around Alnwick with some Excellent restaurants, pubs and of course the castle and grounds. We visited the gardens, made the short journey to Alnmouth for the day and also had visits to Cragside, Craster and Bamburgh. The property is ideally located for families keen to spend some time in beautiful Northumberland. Thoroughly recommend this property. Get it booked! I am sure we will be back in 2021!

The property

Our hip and historic apartment is situated in the heart of Alnwick, a bustling medieval market town in Northumberland.

1 Pringles Yard is an eccentric first and second floor apartment resting in the heart of Alnwick (constructed in the early 19th Century; circa 1810), less than a five-minute walk from a series of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Internally, the property has been renovated into a stylish holiday base for families or two couples.

The lounge has been tastefully decorated with quirky features such as the art nouveau sofa and pool table, providing a relaxing space to unwind in the evening with two window seats, perfect for people watching!

Wander on through and discover the modern kitchen, complete with navy blue panelling and stylishly painted units, along with all the essential appliances for your break away.

Also, on this floor is a bedroom which boasts a double bed with a quirky, renovated door as a headboard, along with a pretty window seat where you can sit and watch the town life pass by.

Head up to the second floor to find a double and bunk room for children, finished in a light decor, along with the bathroom with bath and shower over.

Paces from the apartment is a local pub, fish and chip shop, cafe, takeaways and a supermarket to pick up those essential items.

A few minutes stroll down the road will bring you to the medieval historical Alnwick Castle, which is open to the public throughout the summer.

When you fancy venturing out of town, the Northumberland Coast Area of Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Northumberland National Park are full of scenic walking routes amidst stunning landscapes, along with villages such as Alnmouth and Bamburgh nearby.

The city of Newcastle is just a 45-minute drive to the south, whereas to the north, Edinburgh can be reached in an hours train journey.

Both cities provide a wealth of opportunity whether it be a day of shopping or visiting the historical sites such as Edinburgh Castle or the iconic Angel of the North.

A splendid apartment for a range of a holiday activities in the North of England.

About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
