  • "Lovely clean cottage to stay in."

Plenty of space & beds comfortable. Arrived to a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. Bonnie's retreat is close to everything you need, takeaways, restaurants and convenient stores. Lovely Marina and beach 10 min walk (no dogs allowed on beach). However, Warkworth beach (5-10 min drive) was fantastic for a walk with the dog. Took advise from owners of property to park round corner (no issues). We would recommend Bonnie's retreat to stay in for a break. Thanks for a lovely stay :)

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely and informative feedback. We love Northumberland and Amble is the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful county. Thank you once again and we would love to welcome you back to Bonnie's in the future. Property Owner

The neighbours had a fine art of blocking any parking outside but we parked round the corner no problems.

It was a beautiful property with high quality facilities and decorated tastefully throughout. The outside space was small but maximum use was made of it and we spent a lot of time there. Communication was excellent, before and during our stay. Would highly recommend!

  • "Bonnies is a very comfortable, good value holiday house with the added plus of a sun trap courtyard with comfy patio furniture."

excellent location and very good communication with the host (thank you for considering our elderly mother) plus, great info pack and recommendations to nearby eateries and attractions. I would say that the downstairs bedroom is not really suited to those with limited mobility as the bed was very near to the walls and the loo was in a tiny space but, the upstairs rooms, especially the master, were lovely. Great week was had by the whole family.

Many thanks for your feedback. We accept that the downstairs bedroom will not suit all our guests and are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience. We are glad you had a lovely time in Northumberland and would love to welcome you and your family back to Bonnie's in the future. Property Owner

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short stroll away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
