Lower Driftwood

Lower Driftwood is a lovely cosy apartment with everything we needed for a good day: comfy beds, plenty of hot water and a well equipped kitchen.

It's a few minutes walk to the harbour and all the facilities of this lovely little seaside town. We'll certainly go again!

What a splendid property for us to enjoy our break in - we will definitely look forward to returning to it in the future.

Fantastic positioning in Amble, really close to shops and eating places and the docks area is in easy walking distance. We enjoyed our stay very much. The private off-street parking is really appreciated. Happy to recommend this property to anyone.

One of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in.

Fantastic location 5 mins or less from shops, 5 minutes or less from Sunday Market, same from harbour and Pier. 5 mins or less from bus stops for Morpeth, Alnwick etc. Lovely walks nearby we walked to Alnmouth and Hauxley Nature Reserve. The downstairs flat we hired was spcious, well equiped and had its own ouside garden space with table and chairs. The only negative was the offstreet parking. A plan was supplied to show how cars should be parked. We had taken my wifes very small Renault Zoe on holiday. Even so the parking was tight. With a larger car it would have been a challenge. Would we hire this appartment again. Yes we would.

Lovely appartment, well situated near town centre.

Great having off street parking.

Super apartment.

Really sunny. Well equipped.

Well positioned property, met our needs and we would stay again.

Parking available; however, precise parking is required by both property occupants.

Nice pleasant accommodation very handy for shops , pub and harbour would definitely stay there again

Excellent location in the town of Amble.

Everything was nearby, bus stops, cafes, shops and the sea front. Loved the property, its layout and the outside space. Once we got to grips with the workings of the storage radiators all was cosy. Just a small challenge with the double bedroom window sticking!!

Nice clean & comfortable accommodation Near to all amenities & a good bus service Easy no fuss access with key in key safe

Great accomodation well equipped and fantastic location right in the center of amble with everything more or less on the doorstep

VERY GOOD POSITION CLOSE TO ALL THAT AMBLE HAS TO OFFER,COMFORTABLE AND VERY CLEAN APARTMENT.

A BASIC WELCOME PACK WOULD HAVE BEEN APPRECIATED ALONG WITH MORE THAN ONE TOILET ROLL AND BIN BAG. THE SHOWER TEMPERATURE WAS TOO HOT AND COULD NOT BE REDUCED EVEN ON THE LOWEST SETTING. HAVING SAID THAT WE ENJOYED OUR STAY AND WOULD RECOMEND IT TO OTHERS.

Clean, well equipped, ideal position for shops ,restaurants and harbour…….

our third stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property, it is clean and cosy, with everything we needed for our stay.

We particularly chose it for the onsite parking. We will definately be back.

It was a lovely place to stay very clean.

We have been before only problem was the suite was too low but know he's looking at replacing it.

It's a great little apartment, very clean and comfortable with great access to all the beach, harbour, shops, restaurants and pubs.

The off road parking is a bit tight when the upstairs apartment is occupied but there is plenty of parking spaces in the street. Highly recommended

Lovely Appartment.

Warm , clean and comfortable. In middle of town near all facilities. Lots of places to visit. Bus service very good Highly recommended

We use Lower Driftwood because my husband is disabled and the fact that it is a ground floor property is good for us.

The new parking arrangement is also an improvement as we can now get the wheelchair in through the back door. The provision in the property is very good with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A couple of things that would improve accessibility for us personally would be to have grab rails either side of the front door as the step is quite high and narrow. Also a higher seated sofa as the current one is to low and soft for my husband to use.

Very clean and comfortable.

Easy access to shops and harbour area.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Driftwood, the ground floor flat was spacious and in the main comfortable with the exception of the settee which was not suitable for us due to us sinking right in when we sat on it, difficult to get back out of at our advanced ages.

However there was another chair and the dining chairs were comfortable as was the double bed. The flat was clean and well equipped & in good order. Only a few minutes walk from the harbour and we found the bus stop very close by when it was too late to use but useful to know. On contacting the owner he was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Parking isn quite tight though if the recommendation of Richard the owner is followed there is no problem, however the family in the upstairs flat chose to park on the street even though we parked in the right hand corner as advised.

We loved the holiday cottage as it was comfortable, well equipped and very close to the harbour area.

The only issue was that the parking wasn't adequate for 2 cars (the apartment upstairs shares the driveway). There wasn't room to park side by side as the residents have back access via the driveway. As they had a pram we had to move our car and the upstairs holidaymaker parked on the road instead. There was no mention of these issues and we felt that wasn't fair to the young residents.

Parking arrangements not very good

Lovely apartment, in a great, central location.

Highly recommended!

Really nice place to go.

Restaurants and pubs as well as the locals were all good. The cottage was ideal especially being partially disabled. The owners we particularly friendly.

A great property right in the centre of Amble.

We certainly plan to go again.

Comfortable accommodation in an ideal location

Great apartment in a ideal location with close access to the shops, restaurants, harbour and beach.

It would be nice if there was a welcome pack especially for those who have travelled long distances

Lovely accommodation and just as described.

All the comforts of home you would ever need and everything was spotlessly clean. Great location to use as a base for exploring the local area. Lots of shops/ pubs / restaurants/ cafes all within walking distance.

All you could want in a holiday rental.

Great location in Amble with parking and close to the Harbour with a great choice of Pubs and Restaurants all within walking distance. I wouldn't hesitate to book again

Lovely flat comfy bed loved the walk in shower plenty hanging space having a decent size tv was good you have everything you need a lovely area everything in walking distance lots of amazing places to visit would definitely be back and weather was great

Lovely flat and well kitted out.

It was so quiet though it was close to the Main Street and the harbour. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by and great markets down at the harbour Saturday and Sunday. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful flat, really spacious and had everything we needed.

Loved the decor, and the little touches that made it feel like home. Amazing location, it was great to be so close to the harbour and coast path.

Thank you to the owners, Richard and Cath, who were very friendly and accommodating.

We had a lovely stay over the Christmas period. The apartment was well appointed, clean and very cosy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The apartment is excellently sited near the harbour and restaurants/pubs etc, and the private parking was a bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our break. Thank you, again.

We had a fantastic time at Lower Driftwood.

Apartment very well furnished very clean and warm, it has everything we could need. It has parking for a car, ; centrally located near shops and Marina and lovely walks nearby. We walked to Warkworth and also to Huxley and when on the beaches they are expansive, clean and very few people. A bus service to local towns available (although we may do this next time). We definitely will come again. Thoroughly recommend it

Lovely position.

.everything we needed at the property was there..only positive things to say..the property added to having a fantastic week....

Positives far outweigh any negatives.

Great location, just 1 minute from main street. Accommodation was good. Bed was comfortable but seating in lounge not so for us, it was too low. We had read previous comments about lack of hot water but we found there was plenty, we both had 2 showers each day, washed up etc. and didn't run out of hot water, if you did there is a booster button. We didn't have any problem parking but can imagine the space might be a little tight for 2 family cars. Amble is a really lovely place, plenty of pubs, places to eat, shops etc. Sunday market was great, lots of really fresh fish. Would recommend.

The apartment is excellent Open plan with good windows and glazed doors There's a double and single bedroom A great shower room with WC The location is perfect just on the edge of the town and near the harbour The town is full of shops pubs and restaurants The apartment is located on a one way street so it's quite with no through traffic.

The old boat house or fish shack are on opposite ends of the harbour these are great fish and chip restaurants The people in Amble are so friendly too. We look forward to staying again

A lovely place to stay.

So convenient for shops and restaurants. A really good base for going out to explore the area and there are so many places to visit. Everything we needed was supplied at the accommodation. Really good quality bedding and towels, which really makes a difference. Some lovely paintings on the walls too. Really felt like home from home.

My mum and dad really enjoyed their stay.

The house was lovely. Very clean and with good facilities. It was well positioned to get around. They said they would definitely return.

Great accommodation.

The dirty armchair in the living room was a negative aspects to us the same the pillows and white lamb skins on the sofa. I would rate the accommodation 10 out of 10 without those...

Proximity to the town and harbour was useful.

Private parking was good as the streets in Amble are very congested. The flat was always warm and the lighting was excellent ,both needed in October .The coastal walks from Amble are outstanding.

"Lower Driftwood" is really nice.

Spotlessly clean, well decorated. Furnishings very good quality (no mismatched castoffs, which you find in some holiday lets.) Kitchen equipment well provided, but we did miss having a teapot! Amble is a nice town, with good pubs and eating places, coastal walks and sandy beaches within easy reach. We'll be back!

The property was very clean and attractive, freshly decorated.

A very convenient location with plenty of local facilities close by. The proprietor was very helpful.

Description of property we thought mid leading.

Presentation given to us was not that of a side street flat, but that of a cottage closer to see front. Albeit the transport and shops were within easy walk, we expected to be on sea front and not to have upstairs neighbours.

Seating is very uncomfortable.

. Well positioned house. Price ok. Wouldnt pay any more for a stay.

The cottage was lovely and ideally situated but some of the furniture is old and uncomfortable so needs upgrading

A lovely village with plenty to do

The holiday and cottage was brilliant.

Most importantly was the booking experience. We had a special request and had to phone your office. We were greeted with a quick response, not the normal "you are in a queue ". Our request was delt quickly and efficiently and our booking was completed on the phone. First class service from Syresham.

i would certainly highlight the heating system in house which needs upgradation.

it is in special reference to heating water for shower. it only supply adequate water for shower for one person per day. i gave shower to my daughter after i had one and water become cold in mid of shower. it took hr and a half to get some amount of warm water. we have to make shift hot water by boiling kettle and finish a quick shower.

Northumbria for some reason doesn't collect glass for recycling.

You have to be a resident to take it to the local rubbish tip. I found some car parks in Alnwick & Seahouses have bottle banks but not Amble for some reason.

A brilliant spot for a holiday.

. in the centre of the town and only 2min from the shops and 5min from the harbour. Alnwick & Seahouses not far away with a great beach at Alnmouth (10min away) Very clean and comfortable cottage and cozy in the evenings with its own parking space. Cannot fault it at all and would book again next time we are in Northumberland!!

Location of the apartment was great, close to town etc.

It was very comfortable and brightly decorated - hope to return!

Should have had a washer/dryer & not just a washer.

Especially with it been in February. The apartment was in an ideal location close to all of the amenities.

The apartment was really good and had everything that we neeeded for the week.

Amble, exceeded our expectations as a resort - we were pleasantly surprised.

Good location, excellent facilities an enjoyable holiday in Amble

Very poor quality mattress (same comment in visitor book) Bathroom .

..no paper, soap, anywhere to dry towels, no tray in shower had to bend for shampoo etc on slippy floor (again other comments). Outside covered in old pigeon droppings, not their fault but nothing provided to sweep up & wipe down table & chairs so unusable Lack of kitchen basics kitchen roll hand soap, bin liners, pegs & no recycling info (again other comments)

Great area to visit.

The cottage is close to the centre of Amble which makes it ideal for the local shops, cafes and restaurants

The quality of the accommodation

We have had a number of holidays with you over the years always been pleased with quality

Brilliant accommodation in a fantastic location

The place was lovely - well decorated, clean and in a very good location with regard to walking distance to local shops.

It was also helpful to be able to have off-street parking. Amble is a lovely little town and well placed for visiting all of the other popular locations and towns in the area.

Perfect retreat in the centre of Amble.

Perfect for myself and husband as he has restricted mobility. There is level access into a pretty yard withering lovely secluded patio. We could get him into shower easily as it was quite large although there is one small step up, The apartment was finished to a very high standard and had every thing we needed. Richard the owner was very helpful. Beautiful part of the country. Will definitely be back.

A brilliant apartment with everything in it that you could need.

Great base to explore the area. Lots to do and see.
