  • "Recent extension which has replaced the conservatory was a pleasant surprise."

    We used the Cottage as a base to walk the Northumberland Costal Path, the property had everything we needed, in a nice quiet location with a local shop and pubs. Beadnell is on a bus route which allowed us to travel each day to walk the Costal Path.

  • "Property photos don't show the recent renovation work to the Lavender Cottage."

    ..a lot of effort has been put into it. We were the third visitors since the work was completed and we appreciated the luxury furnishings and fittings. Garden has been gravelled over which the dog enjoyed. Comfortable cottage which provided a peaceful retreat when the weather was unstable. Well located for all the local attractions and the beach walks were only 5 mins walk at the bottom of the road. All in all we enjoyed our peaceful relaxing time in the cottage and will be back Oh don't forget the door stops Julie!

  • "We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Lavender cottage as it had been renovated downstairs increasing the area with a lovely extension where the conservatory use to be."

    It made the room very bright. The kitchen had everything you would need for self catering which was lovely and it is always nice to find the owners have give you coffee, tea, milk & delicious biscuits for us. The beds were very comfortable with lovely pillows & duvets. My only complaint is that the blinds in the bedrooms are thin & set on the outside of the window recess therefore it was very light first thing in the morning which did disturb our sleep. The bathroom is adequate. The electric shower was okay but not much water pressure. After saying this, we would happily return to Lavender cottage.

  • "We have just returned from a great week at Lavender Cottage- it was cosy and comfortable."

    We had everything we needed, even egg cups as generally they aren’t available and we take our own. Lovely back garden which backed onto the field with the horse, made it so peaceful and tranquil. You could literally hear a pin drop. Lots of amazing walks straight out of the door, and within easy reach of Berwick, Holy Island, Alnwick and smaller coastal villages Seahouses, Bamburgh, Alnmouth,Warkworth and Amble all worth a visit. Amazing food at The Courtyard and The Landing in Beadnell Village. Couldn’t fault our stay. Tea, coffee, milk and cookies were much appreciated when we arrived as were the pretty flowers. A lovely week and we will be back! Thank you to Julie and Alan

  • "Lovely property, just right for us."

    Comfortable furniture and beds with everything needed for a week's holiday. Lovely weather was the icing on the cake. Only a short walk to the beach which our dog loved. Would definitely recommend Lavender Cottage and would book again.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Lavender Cottage and would be very happy to go back."

    The owners went to a lot of trouble to make us feel welcome and to quickly put right the slight problem with the toilet - for which we were very grateful. It was a very comfortable place, in a quiet, peaceful location - we really enjoyed being there. Thank you!

  • "We had a great stay at Lavender cottage, 3 adults and the place was roomy enough for us, loved the conservatory on the back of the house."

    new owners had recently taken over, and the place felt fresh and clean, the kitchen was well stocked with the necessary equipment, we eat out most of the time, but do enjoy trying some good local food to cook ourselves (Turnbull's at Alnwick is excellent), and there was all the utensils that we needed to cook a couple of meals during the week, the location is great for the local places to drink and eat, and only a short walk to the beach. It was a nice touch to have tea, coffee, fresh milk left for us, salt pepper, foil and cling film, and washing up liquid, scourers and cloths, just simple items but such a help when self catering, having had rentals in the past that had nothing but the furniture! I would definitely recommend this property.

  • "Small difficulties finding some things but as cottage has a new owner, to be expected Did not cause any problems."

    We are sure the brochure in the property will be amended. Otherwise great cottage (horse was a little standoffish) Greeted by the owners which was nice. Have never had any problems with any Sykes cottages

  • "Had a lovely week at lavender cottage."

    It’s under new ownership, and as just been decorated throughout . The new owners told us they still have a few bits they want to do, but it was nothing that spoiled our enjoyment of the cottage. Had read a few reviews previously saying it wasn’t very clean, but that isn’t the case now, it was spotless

The property

Lavender Cottage is a two-bedroom, semi-detached cottage resting in the heart of Beadnell, Northumberland.

Superbly located for touring the beautiful heritage coastline, this delightful pet-friendly home is perfect for couples and small groups seeking a getaway.

There is a bright kitchen and dining area, comfortable sitting area and a delightful conservatory with views over the field and a lovely spot to curl up with a good book.

A staircase from the living area leads to a shower room and two pretty bedrooms, one double and a single with a view of Dunstanburgh Castle beyond.

The conservatory at the rear of the cottage has french doors leading to a south facing garden and patio with an enclosed garden.

Beadnell is a much sought after destination on the Northumberland Coast, the endless, crescent shaped golden beach and towering sand dunes are a magnet for walkers and watersports enthusiasts alike.

The pubs and restaurants in the area are always buzzing with activity, serving good wholesome fare for everyone.

There are many other activities in the surrounding area of Beadnell including a number of excellent links golf courses, cycling, horse riding and fishing.

Within easy reach from the cottage there are many attractions including the castles at Alnwick, Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh, Holy Island, Hadrian's Wall and Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Lavender Cottage is in a fabulous location with so much to do from the doorstep, and central to exploring the rest of the Northumbrian coastline.

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
