  • "The cottage was lovely."

Tastefully decorated and well equipped. Well enclosed back garden. It was lovely to have welcoming gifts including cake, wine, milk and bread on arrival as the first thing I always want after driving a long way is a cuppa! We met the owner on arrival as he was working next door and as the weather had turned a bit cold he turned the heating up for us, on an App I think. Good job because I'm a bit rubbish at other's heating controls and couldn't work it out in the boiler cupboard. We just turned the radiators off manually at night. The railway line wasn't a problem for any of us, having been brought up next to one, in fact it was quite interesting, especially on the Sunday when there was a steam train. The only little issue I had was before we went I couldn't find mention of a washing machine and emailed Sykes to ask if there was one and the reply was as it wasn't listed or mentioned there wasn't one. When we got there, having taken extra clothing on this understanding I found there was. But maybe Sykes could have contacted the owner before they said there wasn't one? No matter, we had a great time, we felt at home and would definitely book this cottage in the future. Oh must say, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Some cottages charge extra for dogs but I've found they don't make it clear how many they allow or the charge for a dog/dogs before you book. No extra charge here. So I would recommend: clean, modern, warm and comfortable. Thank you.

  • "We have stayed in cottages on numerous occasions and always had gripes with facilities, cleanliness etc However this has changed with Station Cottage."

It was simply perfect. Spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, comfortable, everything we needed for a fantastic few days. Yes there is a main line train track next to the property but we loved watching the trains fly past. The location - one minute off the A1 is perfect for getting around this beautiful part of the world. The key when I review anything is would we go back. Simply we would go back tomorrow without a second thought. Karen the owner was attentive when we needed information and guidance. We can’t wait to come back and thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful property

  • "The cottage is beautifully decorated and location to the sights is perfect the only thing that might let it down is it’s proximity to the very busy train line and there is no mention of this in the details if you are a light sleeper you might want to take some ear plugs as the trains run from 5am (fortunately we aren’t) we would stay here again without hesitation."

The owner has thought of everything we might’ve needed and then some

  • "Just want to note the light fitting over the bed in the middle room is broken."

Also one of the kitchen stools is wobbly and potentially dangerous. Neither were significant issues for us but don't want to get the blame and the stool is an H&S concern. Otherwise all good. Trains quite loud but it was cold so kept the windows closed. Very clean, well equipped and great location.

  • "An amazing stay and have already recommended!"

The cottage was true to the listing and very dog friendly most place say dog friendly but do not allow the dog on the furniture where as here they did with the furniture covered, he settled so well with been allowed to sit with us. The dog section in the kitchen was a lovely touch and I loved all the blankets scattered around the cottage. The welcome gifts for the humans was a lovely touch also. The enclosed garden was a lovely size and the garden furniture was perfect

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed this lovely cottage."

It was beautifully presented. A very nice complementary food/drink package was there when we arrived. Beautiful views from the garden made it even better. When we had one small problem, Karen contacted us immediately. We will certainly recommend this cottage.

Perfect location also for dog walking, being close to Bamburgh and Seahouses, where the beaches are lovely and the sea water clean. We’d highly recommend this cottage for your stay in Northumberland. We’ll definitely be booking again.

  • "Excellent cottage."

Cleanliness was fantastic and everything exceeded our expectations. Only slight caveat is that we couldn’t seem to get the shower to the right temperature! Other than that, it was just brilliant and we are already looking to book again in approximately 6 weeks time. Thanks

Hello Nik Thank you so much for taking the time to give a review of the cottage, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay so much that you and your family will return. We'll look into the issues you had with the shower. Regards Karen and David Property Owner
