  • "Third time we have stayed there ."

Well equipped cottage in a lovely setting . Friendly helpful owners . Very convenient situation for coast , national trust properties and other attractions due to the close proximity of the A1

  • "A very nice stay in a good location."

Only minor fault is the lack of dishwasher, which we're too lazy to manage without nowadays. I did bang my head a couple of times on the low beam in the bathroom; but that is most likely down to my own forgetfulness, since my wife didn't bang hers at all.

  • "Mis-information on web site, as the washing machine, and DVD’s are held in the reception cottage."

No information was left in the cottage regarding this. No dishwasher in the property though listed in information on the cottage For very tall people they may find the upstairs and especially the bathroom challenging to use the facilities. Large beams run through the roof, though clearly marked with ‘Beware signs’. We had a large car fortunately not all hte cottages were let but when they all are parking may be a problem. Overall the property is lovely the lounge and kitchen are a good size.

  • "Furniture not very comfortable."

Had to crouch down in the bathroom as the roof slanted very low with beams below head height. Same with the bedrooms. It was more spacious downstairs and the kitchen was well equipped.

  • "I thought the cottage was lovely, really warm and comfortable, Modern, plenty of equipment in the kitchen, good location for walks and the coast."

It didn’t have a shower (hand held shower spray at the bath taps) or dishwasher but we knew that when we booked it. Would definitely recommend these cottages.

  • "Cottage was spotlessly clean and very warm & cosy."

Decor was first class. Excellent location in lovely countryside a couple of miles from A1 - very central for exploring the area. Property was directly next to a local road - not busy but may be a problem for some people. All together would definitely recommend.

  • "We had a brilliant time at Magpie Cottage."

The owners were friendly and helpful, whilst strictly adhering to the Covid distancing rules. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we could have wished for and was immaculately clean and fresh. It has a lovely garden. The cottages are located beside the owners' riding school, so an added bonus for anyone who loves horses. We had never visited Northumberland before and it exceeded our expectations - the scenery and countryside is stunning, there are lots of places to visit and the beaches have to be some of the best in the country. Morpeth is a really great place to be based for a holiday and Magpie Cottage is a fabulous place to stay.

  • "The cottage was lovely with a nice welcome, but bookers should know it is right next to a country road."

.. not the busiest, but cars zoom along at quite a speed, and most windows directly face the road so can be noisy and impact on privacy

The cottage was well presented with very well maintained grounds, not to mention the approachable and friendly owners. The icing on the cake was the beautiful resident horses. I would highly recommend this cottage

  • "Magpie cottage and the owner's interactions with us were exceptionally good."

The cottage was clean and very well equipped with everything one might need when away from home. Plenty of parking and lovely sheltered garden to relax in at the front of the cottages when the weather is good. We would definitely return to it. Sykes handling of the booking was so good and the details regarding the cottage so accurate that we actually booked a further larger family holiday cottage for our 40th wedding anniversary with them on our return. We are sure that we will not be disappointed.
