  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy ,very well equipped cottage."

The generous welcome pack was much appreciated and Hilary went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable -sorting an unavoidable hiccup very promptly and efficiently The cottage is lovely, very clean and comfortable and a perfect place to explore Warkworth and its surroundings. Riverside and beach walks ,cosy pub, restaurant and a castle all walkable from the door. Easy parking and a real home from home. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage is super comfortable - seemingly newly renovated and had everything we needed. Loved the wood burner. The host was really thoughtful. The location was, of course, superb, and absolutely no problem parking. Highly recommend.

Welcoming, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and a great Welcome Pack. Excellent situation only a mile or so to the beach, and lots of other great beach walks only short drives away, and Alnwick and Morpeth too. Well fitted kitchen if you tire of the amazing steak pies, etc., in The Masons Arms two minutes away. We had a fantastic week.

It is extremely well equipped, one of the best we ever stayed in. Workworth is a lovely town with a beautiful castle and the river snaking around it makes it very special, it is close to many beautiful places. We would definitely recommend it.

  • "The cottage is perfect for a couple - clean, cosy and comfortable."

It is hidden away in a quiet little street away from the busy main road in Warkworth. A very generous welcome pack awaits. The cottage is spotlessly clean and everything is provided to make sure you have a relaxing holiday. We loved it. Two tips for visitors - the cutlery drawer is hidden in the cupboard where cling film etc is to be found, and leaving time is actually 10 am not 9.30am as Sykes Cottages may tell you! The owner of the property is very helpful and kind. We really recommend this home from home for those who love walking and exploring the beautiful Northumbrian coast. Car parking wasn’t a problem as there were always spaces along by the river at the end of the terrace. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was cute, cosy and had everything we needed. It was our first break away as a new family and we felt very comfortable- enjoying the sights of Northumberland during the day and relaxing by the log burner at night. We were sad to leave but will definitely be back! Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Thank you so much for your kind comment. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay and found everything that you needed especially as it was your first trip away with your young babe. It will be lovely to welcome you back should you choose to revisit Northumberia. Property Owner

  • "Despite the owners e mail to my complaint I would like to say that there was a dirty glass, dirty cutlery and a dirty pan, I wish I had taken photos but I had washed them up before I thought of it."

This is a very small property and the owner is not open to receive any criticism. I would not recommend this property , after 10 weeks staying in different places this is by far the worst and very expensive for the accommodation. All the owners of other properties have been lovely , this owner seems very aggressive and not open to criticism.

Thank you for your feedback. As I have not had any direct contact with you, only via a third party email, I can assure you that we welcome all feedback as we aim to give our guests a pleasant and enjoyable stay. I am sorry that your experience was not up to your expectations and wish that you had contacted me directly during your stay to settle any resolvable issues. I can also assure you that I personally clean and put a lot of pride and effort into this newly restored cottage and regret that I can't share the comments in the handwritten guest book which I feel reflect this. In regards to the pricing, I'd like to mention that the cottage company is responsible for rates and, unfortunately, the wk of your stay was the school half term wk, when all the cottages are more expensive.
