  • "This is the best place we’ve stayed at."

    We use Sykes regularly but this is the best listing we’ve been to. The reason is Tonia and Chris, the owners, make absolutely sure you’re happy and everything goes smoothly for your stay. They are on hand when needed but stay in the background if not needed. They take a pride in the accommodation they offer and are always receptive to ideas to improve. I hope everyone who stays at ‘Willows’ looks after the property because the owners certainly do. Thank you Tonia for everything you do.

  • "Thankyou for a lovely stay."

    Lots of restaurants in easy walking distance. We used five of them but I think there was one for each day of the week! A couple of suggestions for additions to the inventory were very swiftly acted on. The secure back garden was perfect for storing some plants we had brought with us for a show in Hexham. We will be back.

  • "I loved Willows."

    The accommodation is of an exceptional standard for decor and cleanliness. The sofa and beds were so comfortable. I would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends who are planning a visit next year. What could be better? Another comfy chair or sofa maybe? With 3 adults there was always a scrabble for the comfy seat. And bigger wine glasses please

  • "Thank you for a great stay."

    We all slept like logs - the area is very quiet and beds super comfy- and enjoyed the home comforts you kindly provided! The kitchen was very well equipped, thank you, but more than 3 tumbler type glasses would have been welcomed at the family dinner table. That said, the kids enjoyed drinking out of 'posh' glasses! Easy parking, 10 minute walk to the Co-op and less to the nearest pub, beautiful walks within minutes from the front door.

  • "Lovely little property only issues were we had to replace the batteries in the thermostat heating control as it wasn’t working right and then the screen went blank."

    It started again when we went out and bought some new AA batteries. Also a small tray at the side of the single bed had a pair of contact lenses, presumably disposable, left in the tray which we found when we arrived. Other than that the property was nice and clean, leaving the fire laid and some milk and biscuits were nice welcoming touches . We also really liked Corbridge

    Sorry for the inconvenience of thermostat. The dish by the single bed is a multi coloured dish, with blue. The contact lenses were not easy to notice. I am very sorry that you experienced this. How ever I am aware of this and check more closely. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "The Willows was immaculate and had everything we needed during our stay."

    The location was perfect and just a short walk into Corbridge and ample parking for the 2 cars near the property. The garden was a sun trap and very pleasant to sit in with garden furniture provided. I would recommend this accommodation to everyone!

  • "All good…a recently fitted out house with all mod cons."

    The only item that would improve the tv would be the addition of a dvd player, but that’s a thing only old folks like us would appreciate.

  • "Just brilliant is the only description."

    Everything in the cottage was great - even down to the fact there was a gate at the bottom of the stairs so we could keep our young dog downstairs at all times. The hosts were wonderful from the ‘call in’ on our arrival, to make sure we were happy, to the goodies they left us, and the dog. The house is exceptionally clean and everything in it spotless for our use. I’m almost frightened to write this report in case we can’t book in again

  • "We had a lovely short break at The Willows, it's a great location and everything is well thought out and very tastefully decorated our only feedback would be and it's perhaps personal preference but the synthetic duvets and pillows are very warm which made it quite uncomfortable to sleep."

    A radio in the kitchen would have been a bonus too.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in this house in Corbridge, which had very recently been refurbished wonderfully well."

    All furnishings and appliances are of excellent quality. Beds and bedding very comfortable. Great shower/bathroom and fab garden space where we had evening bbq due to being very lucky with the weather. Great pub/restaurants in the village only 10 mins away. House is in a lovely quiet residential area. Corbridge Roman settlement very close by and recommended, as is Chester’s. Hexham Abbey was a great visit too, with children's activity room. Thanks Chris and Tonia for the wonderful welcome pack too. Was nice of Tonia to pop round to check all was ok. We will be back.

  • "We were slightly nervous about booking the Willows as it is new to the market and had no prior reviews."

    Any worries we had were immediately dispelled on arrival, however. The property is fantastic: spotlessly clean and is decorated, furnished and equipped to a very high standard. It is warm and comfortable with a fantastic garden area to the rear and a lovely open communal gardens to the front. There is everything you need for a home-from-home stay - including a smart TV with access to Netflix.The house is situated in a very pleasant and quiet residential area, with plenty free parking and it's just a 10-minute walk from there into the centre of Corbridge. The owners were great to communicate with and provided a lovely welcome pack, which was a lovely touch. We really could not have wished for a better place to stay. Corbridge itself is a very pretty little town with a great choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants - many of them dog friendly. We give this 5 stars with no hesitation.

Hexham 3 miles; Newcastle 16 miles.

A delightful historic village surrounded by beautiful unspoilt Northumbrian countryside, Corbridge offers much of interest, including specialist shops, old inns and a 12th century bridge spanning the river. Hadrian’s Wall and Housesteads Fort are nearby, whilst the market town of Hexham is a few miles away and is well worth a visit, with its narrow bustling streets, good selection of shops and a fascinating abbey boasting 15th century paintings and a fine Saxon crypt. The Border Country, Northumbrian coast, Kielder Forest with cycling and watersports, Beamish Open Air Museum and Durham Cathedral are all within easy motoring distance, while the Gateshead Metro Centre (one of the largest shopping centres in Europe) can be found 20 miles to the east. Excellent golf and fly and coarse fishing are also available locally.
