  • "This is a lovely cottage ."

    The place was clean and warm on arrival. It has all the equipment you might need for a perfect stay. We stayed when the weather was snowy and cold but it was great to be able to return to a warm house with the added bonus of being able to light a fire. It is in a great location for accessing the beach and local pubs. Having a parking space at the rear is good. We would love to return!

    The house was comfortable and well equipped. The location gave easy access to walks from Embleton. We also appreciated being able to walk to two places to eat where the food and service were good if not outstanding.

  • "2A was a delightful base from which to embrace all the joys of a holiday in Northumberland."

    We have visited Embleton over many years and always loved it but this was by far the best place we have stayed in. The only thing I would add to improve it is decent facilities to dry wet walking gear. There is no airing cupboard or drying room and it can therefore take ages for wet clothes to dry. Otherwise, a perfect experience.

    The property felt like a real home with everything you could need to make the stay there enjoyable without feeling too cluttered. Embleton is a lovely village with great walks and places to eat on the doorstep, plus ideally situated for exploring the area by car. Would definitely return.

    The owners have paid such attention to detail. Everything has been provided down to a salad spinner! Perhaps an extra tea towel and cleaning cloths. Embleton is a lovely village ideally situated to explore the beautiful northumbrian coast in both directions. The village shop opposite the cottage is a delight.

  • "A beautiful cottage, well designed and decorated to a very high standard and containing everything you need."

    Location is excellent- only a short walk to the beach and with a fabulous farm shop opposite selling delicious local produce. There are a couple of pubs in the village so you don't need to drive anywhere if you don't want, and can explore the local beaches on foot. Loved our stay here and would definitely book again.

The property

2A Front Street is a delightful, 3 bedroomed mid-terrace house resting in the beautiful village of Embleton, providing an ideal base for a family or group of friends to explore the wonders of Northumberland and it's stunning coastline. Arrive at the property into a light and airy hallway where you'll find a large and welcoming living room complete with log burner and plenty of comfortable seating that leads into the dining area and then to a stylish, contemporary well-equipped kitchen , ideal for cooking up your favourite meal. A large utility area with adjoining toilet provides extra space for storage as well as an access door to the enclosed patio and private parking space . When it's time to get refreshed, head upstairs to find 3 bedrooms including 2 twin bedrooms and a double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite.

All furnished to a high standard with plenty of natural light. When it's time to head out a explore you'll find a farm shop conveniently located across the street for those that enjoy getting plenty of fresh air, there's Embleton Bay just a ten minute walk away, a wonderful stretch of beach overlooked by the iconic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle . With dogs being welcomed on most of Northumberland's beaches why not head out for a long walk and a paddle with your furry friends whilst taking in the stunning scenery of the Northumberland Coast. You'll find plenty to entertain the kids with many seaside attractions to be found, and you won't be short of choice for some classic pub meals or quintessential fish and chips from one of the many local shops. Venture further afield and follow the Heritage Coastline where you'll discover more sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages, and amazing castles.

Other towns of interest include Alnwick, Seahouses (just a quick drive away), and why not check out the popular spot, Berwick-upon-Tweed, near the border.

There's lots to explore in the area, such as golf, sailing (from Seahouses to the Farne Islands), birdwatching, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. You can be sure of a fun packed holiday with a stay at 2A Front Street.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
