If you like wood burners there is one in the house. We were able to visit so many places from there such has Cragside, Bamburgh Castle, Hadrians Wall and Housesteads Roman Fort, Vandolanda Roman Fort and others. The owners live next door so any problems we could have called them if necessary. Plenty of car parking close to the house with a lovely view. Definitely recommend Fenwick Retreat.

Graham and Claire had also provided a 'welcome' pack that was much appreciated, including fresh eggs from their chickens which went down a treat. The setting of Fenwick Retreat was in very picturesque countryside and well situated for much sight-seeing. We especially enjoyed Vindolanda and the Roman Soldiers Museum.
