Log burner and hot tub great features, views amazing. Can’t wait to revisit, there’s nowhere quite like it anywhere else! A real credit to the owners.

  • "We've been to many cottages over the last few years and horsley cottage is one of the best ones we've stayed in."

If we had a gripe the only thing would be in the main bedroom, in the morning the sun came through the curtains even though they are very thick. A blind would help with that. But that is just a personal thing for myself and my husband. Apart from that the cottage was wonderful.

  • "Lovely cottage, exceptionally clean and equipped to a very high standard, very spacious with a great hot tub."

Situated on the edge of the Pennines, so slightly remote and very quiet. Small supply of essentials - milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were provided. We will certainly return in the future.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a mesmerising setting."

Super clean, cottage equipped with everything that was needed. The master bedroom had a little smell emanating from the bathroom so we slept in the other bedroom where two single beds were joined tighter and I found it little uncomfortable. Pillows were tough but then not everyone likes them softer. We had an amazing week and we loved every second of our stay. Watching stars at night from the hot tub was unforgettable experience. Would definitely come back.

  • "Amazing cottage, so comfortable and spotlessly clean."

Perfect for our 2 year old as all on one level and very secure outdoor area. Everything has been thought out well, furniture is comfortable, fittings and utensils are quality and hot tub is great. It is remote so lots of country lanes and driving but we felt that added to its feeling of calm. Would 100% recommend.

The accommodation was well equipped and finished to a really high standard - it was also spotlessly clean. The location was beautiful with great views but not too far to drive for supplies and with walking and cycling nearby. We would definitely consider staying again!

  • "This was by far the best holiday we’ve ever had in this country."

We’ve never visited the area before and it did not disappoint, it was stunning. The cottage was just perfect, tastefully decorated but so comfortable with everything you’d need. The hot tub was fantastic, we used it every day (more than once most days!) and the views were gorgeous. It was so peaceful and relaxing. There are plenty of things to do within easy reach (we especially enjoyed visiting the beach at Seaham and hunting for sea glass and walking at Derwent Res - great play area and only 6 minutes away!) we’ve never been tempted to go back to the same place but would 100% return here, it’s left us feeling so relaxed and refreshed. The owners were super friendly but not at all intrusive. We didn’t want to leave, it was fantastic!

Kitchen has everything you could possibly need . Great parking. Great privacy . Only negative is the the heating system has a mind of its own - that meant it’s too hot throughout the night and too cold in the evening .

Ideal distance from Consett & Durham as well as the added luxury of being quite remote to benefit from the peace and quiet. It's a shame the house is booked up until November as we would love to come back sooner.
