"Just spent a wonderful week with our two grandchildren (September 2026) at Croft Cottage."
Our son and daughter in law joined us for three days, and this is their 4th time at Croft. Their repeated visits are testament to the quality of the accommodation which is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped - with a large garden where our grandkids were able to play safely. The one exception (but by no means a major problem) was that the quilts were too warm for night-time temperatures in the upper teens. Our suggestion to the owners would be to provide summer weight quilts for summer months and revert to thicker quilts for colder months. However, this should not deter potential guests from booking Croft Cottage. Warm quilts or not, we have every intention of returning yet again to sample the delights of a holiday in this lovely cottage. The owners really have thought of everything. Highly recommended.

"This is our 5th time at Croft Cottage and each time we never want to leave , the cottage its self is a home from home and suits iur 3 generations , the location is perfect with a bus stop at the end of the drive."
Alnmouth beach is a must and Alnwick its self and the castle don't disappoint, we can't wait to return next year.

"Fabulous cottage!"
Clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Comfortable beds and lovely furnishings. Lovely and convenient location, although you can hear the A1 it wasn't intrusive.Lovely garden area.Would definitely come back.
A few points to mention. The heating was very efficient but temperamental (heating on at night as mentioned in our phone call)
May need someone to remove dead rabbit carcasses from garden as may upset some people/children.

"Generally very happy with this cottage."
Very comfortable and we had a great stay there. Only one major issue for me. Having a spinal disability, I often turn to having a hot bath for pain relief. The water was lukewarm, so no good for a bath. Otherwise, a lovely stay. Thank you.

"We were very happy with Croft cottage which was light and airy, warm, beautifully furnished and very well appointed."
The outdoor grounds too were substantial and gave us chance to relax and play a game outside also.

"A lovely property, very well equipped and so welcoming."
No complaints at all except for the matter of the underfloor heating which never kicked in, requiring greater use of the fire downstairs. If this was meant to be operational, it should have been more obvious how to activate it.

"A very nice cottage, in a great location just outside Alnwick."
We were a family of 4, and the cottage had everything we needed and plenty space.
A great base for exploring Alnwick and wider Northumberland!

"It is a beautiful cottage, and very well appointed, and we were quite happy with the welcome box & cleaning supplies (although a couple of tablets for the washing machine would have been nice)."
It was very easy to find, the Satnav took us right up to the door. We were a bit surprised to find that the cottage is set within a courtyard system with several other cottages on site - it might be helpful if this could be clearly stated on the listing. We had a small problem on arrival, in that the family bathroom door was locked! We managed to open it, but the lock appears to be faulty. The listing does state that the property is close to the A1 - but some of our party found the sound of traffic to be intrusive. These are only minor issues - we had a wonderful time visiting the local area and enjoyed the garden, and would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. Thank you.

"We had a lovely stay at Croft Cottage."
Everything was seamless. It was super easy to find, really close to amenities (nice pub close by, Sainsbury’s, M&S foodhall, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc.) and accessible to all the local attractions/tourist spots.
The cottage itself was beautiful, really spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. We went with 2 families (one of 2 adults 1 toddler & 2 adults 1 toddler/1 infant). It was perfect for us, space to get travel cots in all bedrooms if needed. Loads of outdoor space, we were lucky with gorgeous weather and even had a BBQ. The kitchen had everything we needed, even plastic plates, some cutlery and cups for the kids. My only grumble would be they didn’t have a stairgate (although there were fixings on the wall which which suggested they have one, I tried to call but the phone system wouldn’t allow me through to anyone to ask - we coped without. But it would be helpful to have one, especially if a travel cots was requested) or a high chair. Otherwise it was excellent.
I'm so pleased that you spent such an enjoyable week at Croft Cottage; my granddaughters love all the outside space when we visit. I will contact Sykes / NCCC about your difficulty getting in touch with them and make sure that they know that there are two stair gates available at the cottage and that these should be offered to guests when cots and high chairs are requested.

"The cottage is lovely with lots of nice outdoor space."
Very close to shops and routes to the cost and inland.
The smaller shower head in the main bedroom ensuite needs fixing as it won't hold in its bracket.
Thank you so much for your comments; it sounds as though you had a good holiday at Croft Cottage. It's always so useful to get feedback when guests discover problems and I will be in touch with Sykes / NCCC regarding the shower head.

"We had a wonderful holiday, the cottage was lovely and the welcome packs were so cute."
The only thing I would like is a bigger supply of loo rolls, kitchen roll and dishwasher tablets, enough for the amount of days one is staying. The airbnbs that I have stayed in always have always had more than enough. This is a minor thing but would make life easier.
The cottage and grounds were fabulous, I will highly recommend you.
I'm so pleased to hear that your holiday at Croft Cottage was so successful and thank you for your comments.. The cottage isn't listed as an airbnb property and is solely managed by Sykes / NCCC and we work on the basis that the starter packs enable you to manage for a day or two with the essentials.
