  • "We had a lovely stay at Croft Cottage."

Everything was seamless. It was super easy to find, really close to amenities (nice pub close by, Sainsbury’s, M&S foodhall, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc.) and accessible to all the local attractions/tourist spots. The cottage itself was beautiful, really spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. We went with 2 families (one of 2 adults 1 toddler & 2 adults 1 toddler/1 infant). It was perfect for us, space to get travel cots in all bedrooms if needed. Loads of outdoor space, we were lucky with gorgeous weather and even had a BBQ. The kitchen had everything we needed, even plastic plates, some cutlery and cups for the kids. My only grumble would be they didn’t have a stairgate (although there were fixings on the wall which which suggested they have one, I tried to call but the phone system wouldn’t allow me through to anyone to ask - we coped without. But it would be helpful to have one, especially if a travel cots was requested) or a high chair. Otherwise it was excellent.

I'm so pleased that you spent such an enjoyable week at Croft Cottage; my granddaughters love all the outside space when we visit. I will contact Sykes / NCCC about your difficulty getting in touch with them and make sure that they know that there are two stair gates available at the cottage and that these should be offered to guests when cots and high chairs are requested. • "The cottage is lovely with lots of nice outdoor space."

Very close to shops and routes to the cost and inland. The smaller shower head in the main bedroom ensuite needs fixing as it won't hold in its bracket.

Thank you so much for your comments; it sounds as though you had a good holiday at Croft Cottage. It's always so useful to get feedback when guests discover problems and I will be in touch with Sykes / NCCC regarding the shower head. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday, the cottage was lovely and the welcome packs were so cute."

The only thing I would like is a bigger supply of loo rolls, kitchen roll and dishwasher tablets, enough for the amount of days one is staying. The airbnbs that I have stayed in always have always had more than enough. This is a minor thing but would make life easier. The cottage and grounds were fabulous, I will highly recommend you.

I'm so pleased to hear that your holiday at Croft Cottage was so successful and thank you for your comments.. The cottage isn't listed as an airbnb property and is solely managed by Sykes / NCCC and we work on the basis that the starter packs enable you to manage for a day or two with the essentials. ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike; for even more excitement, the enchanted world of Lilidorei is also available at Alnwick Gardens, offering seasonal events and plenty of fun for little ones of your group. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
