  • "Perfect house in every way!"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cushat House."

The property is the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Beautiful house, very well equipped, the owners have thought of everything and the house is exceptionally clean. The gardens are well laid out with seating areas and a great area for a dog to play plus be totally secure. I spoke to the owners a few times to discuss places to visit and Lesley and Terry were so helpful and all their recommendations were superb. We will definitely be recommending Cushat House to our friends as a place to stay in the lovely area of Northumberland. Thank you Lesley and Terry for making our stay so special.

  • "Cushat House was genuinely a superb property."

The hosts Lesley and Terry have provided a beautiful house in a delightful location 10 minutes drive from the stunning Embleton bay and a gentle 15 minute walk from the nearest pub. The furnishings and facilities provided are all of high quality. There is everything you need and nothing that you don't need ; there are even items provided that you didn't know you needed (luggage mats in the bedroom, foot stool in the lounge...). Enclosed well maintained gardens mean pooches or indeed children are safe to play outdoors in this quiet picturesque setting. A short drive leads you to the jaw-dropping St. Aidens beach at Seahouses or the quaint village of Alnmouth for a multitude of tasteful eateries. As for golfers, make sure your clubs are the first thing packed in the car boot as you will be spoilt for choice and value. We will without doubt be back!

  • "What a wonderful find Cushat House was!"

The level of thought and attention to detail that Lesley & Terry have put into the place is a real credit to them. Managing to blend relaxing homely comfort with boutique hotel touches gives an added feeling of luxury, which, when staying in a dog friendly accommodation is often sadly missing! Their thoughtfulness is outstanding, from the fabulous welcome hamper, (the likes of which we have never experienced before, was on another level) to providing absolutely everything you would need and more for a perfect holiday! We shall most definitely return, as it is also perfectly located to explore so much of wonderful Northumberland! Thank you both so much for such an amazing stay!

  • "Cushat House warrants a five star award for high quality furnishings and decor alone."

Fully enclosed and secure garden with excellent parking in a quiet location within a short drive to Alnwick. We really appreciated the attention to detail and the owners provided a lovely welcome pack plus decorations for our 30th wedding anniversary. We have booked with Sykes for over 20 years and this is the most impressive property yet.

About the location

EMBLETON

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
