  • "This is a lovely property in an excellent location one of the very few complaints is that one of the2 seater couches was very soft and not good for my old back."

We would certainly recommend and would certainly visit again

  • "Very central for us and layout good, except for no toilet on top floor but my friend was OK."

Single bed I slept in opposite the door seemed very old, maybe just needs a new mattress but very squeaky and uncomfortable. Settees were OK but just to many covers on them. It did us for what we wanted.

  • "Great location for the beach, parking for 2 cars also great, kitchen well resourced for pans, cutlery etc."

Perfecly adequate for self-catering. Clean floors, bathroom, bedding etc, very dusty light fittings and skirting boards. Outside lights don't work, sofas and garden furniture very close to the end of their usable life. The shed has many broken items in it, looks like it's become a bit of a dumping ground.

  • "A very clean modern house with a lovely large open plan kitchen, 3 nice size bedrooms & 2 modern bathrooms, situated within walking distance of the beach."

The sea view is only seen from the back bedrooms on the upper floors. The living room sofas are very uncomfortable & need replacing.

  • "A lovely house, very well equiped with everything needed for a holiday stay."

The bedrooms were very good and the beds were extremely comfortable. Position not great but a lovely beach and an interesting village within a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed our stay at Coast View and would certainly consider a return visit.

  • "The ensuite double mattress was heavily stained and needs replacing."

No contact from plumber after initial visit for overflows on both toilets that were running fast. Both continued to drip. Elsewhere clean and tidy.

  • "The property is in a great location."

Plenty of space inside for family of five. Sofas are the most uncomfortable we have ever sat on. Beds were uncomfortable in the twin room. Springs poking through. Cleanliness was awful. Dirty utensils, oven items and crockery in the cupboards. Bannister felt sticky to the touch. Dust and cobwebs on light fittings and ceilings. Could not use the garden at all as we saw rats in it on the first night we were there. Did phone the number provided to let them know but were told they couldn't control filthy items or rats - they just cleaned surfaces and changed beds! We liked the area, but wouldn't stay in this cottage again.

  • "A great stay in a comfortable well equipped house."

  • "Good location and nice seaside garden, however, maintenance and décor of the property is not of a high standard : En-suite needs upgrading (no lamp shade, light not working in shower, towel and toilet roll holders loose."

Shower door needs checking. En- suite bedroom window does not open - safety issue. Wardrobe full of items so nowhere to put clothes. Vacuum totally ineffective - bag hasn't been emptied for months and smells of dog. No new bag supplied. Dishwasher effective but old. Sofas uncomfortable and covered in stretchy covers - not as in the photograph on the website. No basic cleaning materials available. Scuff marks on many walls. Carpets need cleaning on stairs. We felt that the cost of renting the property was not value for money and question when the property was last checked by letting agency. As a result we will not book this property again or recommend it. Disappointing. Hence, why will feel we are unable to recommend Northumbria Coast and Country Cottages.

  • "I’ve already done this once !"

! Only comments were - hadn’t realised sea/coastline only truly visible rom top floor. Sofas not comfy for a long sit - eg: evening watching tele.

  • "This property surpassed our expectations."

Whilst the sea view is only from the back two bedrooms, it was much better than expected from the top bedroom - we were grateful for the two stools at the window - and we spotted lots of different wildlife on the sea. The rest of the house is comfortable with good-sized bedrooms and everything that we needed in the kitchen. The house is also only a short walk from a lovely beach. We have already booked again for next year.

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
