  • "A very well presented holiday home."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fairwinds, it was a perfect base for us to explore the delights of Northumberland. The welcome pack that was provided on arrival, ' was a very nice gesture by the owners, also the basket of dog toys, treats & towels we’re very much appreciated, though we’d taken plenty of things with us. The enclosed garden was perfect to just sit in & listen to the sea, while enjoying the lovely weather we were lucky to have, after a day exploring. We’ll definitely consider booking & staying again in the future, with or without the dogs. Thank you to both the owners & Sykes for making such a wonderful holiday home available. Thank you, Neil & Ann Brown. Also Max & Coco(the dogs)

  • "We have had the most magical stay at Fairwinds."

I researched for a long time looking for the perfect holiday house for us. Fairwinds did not disappoint. We wanted somewhere with a garden, great for dog walking (our puppies first holiday) and paddle boarding, close proximity to the beach and amenities so that we could properly switch off and recharge. We also wanted a house that was top spec as well as cosy. I thought I wouldn’t find somewhere with everything we wanted. But we did and we have had the happiest of weeks. We are already looking to book again.

Hi Louise, we're glad you had a great time at Fairwinds and you think it's as special as we do. We hope to see you back again sometime soon! Property Owner

Everything you could need for a self catering holiday. Views are fantastic. Loved watching the Dolphins swim past in the evening. Locals very friendly.

  • "We had a lovely holiday in New Biggin and the accommodation was everything we hoped it would be."

The location of Fairwinds is perfect with views of a beach that always has something going on. Paddle boarding, open water swimming, boats in and out of the water, a park run Saturday morning, people riding horses into the sea and even had the lifeboat launched in earnest one evening. Our only criticism of the facilities is the same one as other reviews, no furniture in the garden, a nice patio but nothing on it. Will definitely book again though perhaps take our deckchairs

Thanks for your review Nick, and we're glad you enjoyed your stay at Fairwinds. I'm sorry that the outdoor furniture wasn't available in time for your visit, but should you return you'll now find a selection of outdoor furniture available for use, including an 8 person dining table, a bistro set and a set of reclining chairs for relaxing in the sun. No need to bring your deckchairs next time! :-) Property Owner

  • "We had a brill time at fair winds the house was beautiful had everything we needed very tastefully decorated lovely views threw the windows of the sea."

The only negative was no outside furniture to sit outside and admire the view I didn’t get why no furniture we had to go out and buy some chairs to sit outside.

  • "Lovely cosy welcoming house with a perfect view over the bay."

Could spend all day just watching the comings and goings in the harbour. Our dogs loved it and we appreciated the bowls and blanket provided for them. Shame they are not allowed on the main beach to run about. It would have been nice to have some sort of outdoor chairs or seating area in the garden - not the same having to carry dining chairs outside. Would love to return.

Hi Rowena, thanks for your review. We've taken on-board your comments regarding the outdoor furniture - no more weight-lifting needed moving the dining chair outside! We've provided an 8-person outdoor dining table, along with a bistro set and some reclining garden chairs for those wishing to soak up some rays! We hope to welcome you back again soon. • "The interior of Fairwinds is beautiful and very comfortable with everything you need, it is also ideally located to explore the Northumberland coastline and all it has to offer."

The views from Fairwinds are second to none looking out over the seafront and promenade. The only down side to our stay was the fact that we had a lovely large patio area overlooking the beach without a stick of outdoor furniture to be found anywhere so all our anticipations of alfresco dining or simple sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine we’re scuppered immediately, very disappointing.

Thanks for your review John, and we're glad you enjoyed your stay at Fairwinds - we think it's something special. We've taken on board your feedback, and now have provided a selection of garden furniture including 8 person picnic table, a bistro set and some reclining garden chairs. We hope to see you back another time to try them out! Property Owner

After parking up, enter your new holiday home and discover a bright and airy kitchen/diner, perfect for savouring your morning coffee or evening meals together.

Down the hall, enter the welcoming sitting room, where you can relax by the warm glow of the gas fire and plan your days of exploration, or click on the TV to catch up on your favourite shows.

If you prefer to soak up the sea air a little while longer, enjoy alfresco dining and a glass of wine in the evening on the patio in the private rear garden, until the stars begin to appear overhead.

Head into the surrounding area and the nearby towns of Ashington and Stakeford, the former boasting a range of outdoor activities, as well as an abundance of shops and eateries, such as the popular cafe, The Grazing Sheep.
