  • "We loved our stay at castle street, the cottage was tastefully decorated very clean and well equipped with everything, secure garden for the dog and with some very thoughtful touches, with a welcome hamper and a vase of fresh flowers The village itself was lovely and a shop, pub, butchers and bakers all within walking distance would recommend visiting all, It also had some interesting historical facts which we loved reading about."

Great location for visiting villages and a 10 minute drive to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Would definitely recommend here it's in our top 5 of cottages overall (we've stayed at many)

  • "A really beautiful cottage in a beautiful village."

The cottage could not have been better equipped, was comfortable, clean and cheerful. We were greeted by a lovely welcome pack and fresh flowers. People in the villages were very friendly and welcoming and the local pub, The Mason Arms was excellent for food and drink at very reasonable prices! The location of the cottage was ideal for visiting the breathtaking countryside of Northumberland and Scotland. As always we 'ran out' of time as there are always new things to see and do! Cannot rate this cottage higher, an absolute must and hope we can revisit soon!

  • "The cottage is well decorated and comfortable and has everything you need, with a good parking spot outside on the road."

The village has a small convenience store, a butcher and a bakers as well as pubs. There are several good walks nearby and lots of places of interest within a short drive. The Fishers Arms in the next village of Horncliffe is well worth a visit.

  • "The cottage was lovely and clean, the bed was very comfortable."

Plenty of space every where in the cottage. It was lovely to be able to sit outside and have our meals or just relax. It was a lovely surprise to have the bread, biscuits honey. The only thing was there was a smell of damp, but we opened the windows and lit the candle. There was no phone reception also which was no bad thing. We look forward to returning. Lovely village, butcher's were fab and the Mason arms pub served lovely fresh food and the shop was lovely

  • "We had a lovely week in the cottage."

The village is very pretty and quiet with lovely walks with our dog by the river. The cottage is exactly as advertised and met our needs perfectly. The owner was lovely and we owe her our sincere thanks for allowing us to stay until 6pm in the cottage on the day we were leaving as we had a problem with our car and had to wait for the RAC. The neighbours and people in the village were very friendly. It us a perfect location handy for both the main sights of Northumberland and the beautiful Scottish border villages and countryside. Highly recommended.

It’s in a really great location, close to Berwick Upon Tweed and the A1, but you still feel like your in the countryside. Loved the access to peaceful river walks.Cottage was clean and comfortable. Disappointed ,no hairdryer provided, duvets too heavy for summer weather, a dustpan and brush would have been handy for kitchen floor, different colour towels for rooms using one bathroom would have helped . Overall we really enjoyed our week in Norham, thankyou

Property was excellent, very comfortable, well equipped, decorated to high standard with all mod cons provided. Really appreciated the wood burning stove as weather a bit on the cold side. Recommend the butcher, the baker and especially the fish and chip van on the Thursday - lovely! Very well situated for visiting all the attractions in the area.

  • "Brilliant just brilliant."

The house was just as described on the website. spotlessly clean in all aspects, in fact it was almost brand new. The kitchen, lounge, bathroom and both bedrooms exuded quality. We had a wonderful week there. i am a photographer and came to Norham to reshoot a photograph I did last year, for me that was a twelve hundred mile round trip. every mile was worth it, never mind the photo, Norham and the house made it worthwhile. The location of the village was a perfect starting point to explore the borders ( Kelso what a gem of a place ). The pub ( Masons Arms) was friendly and welcoming, full of locals willing to have a conversation. I like pubs so I kept going back. Both my wife and I agree the 46 Castle Street and Norham is just a wonderful place to visit and intend to rebook, you never know I might just get that photo right.

  • "A lovely property to stay in, beautifully decorated, very clean, and very comfortable."

Everything was like new, it had a well stocked woodburner, and everything you could possibly need for a lovely stay. An excellent location for exploring Northumberland and the Borders. The village itself is friendly and has a lovely feel to it. The Masons Arms is a cozy Pub, great beers, great food, and the Friday Curry Night was fantastic. The shop is a few yards away and is a good old fashioned grocers seeling really nice produce and I recommend a visit to the Butchers, we took away a coolbag full of their wares. Our only observation in the cottage was the towell rail in the bathroom wasnt working making it hard to get towells dry, but everything else was great, we really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Thank you for your kind feedback. The towel rail and underfloor heating in the bathroom do work and are turned on as required by a switch outside the bathroom door. This was stated in the cottage information pack - sorry you missed it. A quick text to myself would have rectified the issue. Pleased you enjoyed Norham and all its facilities. Property Owner

  • "46 Castle Street was an excellent choice for a much needed short break for relaxing and recuperating with wonderful coastal walks a short drive away, and calm riverside walks by the Tweed just minutes away from the cottage."

We would certainly hope to book the cottage again. Recently refurbished to a very high standard, the cottage is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The back of the cottage is quite a sun-trap, so the reclining chairs were a bonus. The welcome pack of local produce was a pleasant surprise - especially the Chain Bridge Farm honey, thank you. The village butchers/deli is excellent, and the small general shop had good fresh produce when we were there. Whilst a dog is allowed in the cottage - and the friendly neighbours certainly enjoyed getting to know our dog - the owner requests that dogs aren't allowed upstairs/into the bedrooms; we took our dog and were glad that we'd taken her crate/cage to ensure she slept downstairs.
