  • "Lovely warm cottage, clean and tidy."

Really enjoyed our stay. Good choice of local attractions within a short drive.

  • "A lovely cottage in a lovely village."

Our main problem was trying to get the oven/stove to work. Which we failed to do. Nothing wrong with the oven I believe, but an issue re setting the oven clock to get the thing to work. Never managed to figure this out and the instructions in the cottage information book was confusing. Unfortunately the landlady was away for a couple of days and then we were out a lot, so we went able to meet so she could she us what to do (she did offer). The Granby pub directly opposite the cottage is ok, feel a good pint, though we were disappointed with the limited range of takeaway options, with rather strange options for pizza. Oh and the key box, is a box that contains the house key, it is not an electronic system to unlock the door as we originally thought! Otherwise we had a lovely time

The cottage is is very homely. We loved the lounge with its log burner. We could not work out how to use the oven and the owner came out immediately. Bread, wine grapes and flowers were waiting for us

We had a really warm welcome when we arrived with music playing and bread and wine out on the table. It was perfect for what we needed that week and we would definitely visit again.

Well-equipped, very clean, very tastefully decorated. The village had all the necessary amenities and the locals were extremely friendly. We had a fabulous holiday!

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage, with lovely touch from the owner leaving bread, butter, milk and wine for us, meant we weren`t having to rush out to shops when we 1st got there, the fresh flowers in living room made it very inviting, i had took everything with me, but l need not have worried if l had forgotten something as there was washing powder etc in the cupboards."

Cottage was spotless and the pub over the road did a delivery service which was nice after a long day out sightseeing. Owner was only a call or text away if we needed anything, would definitely stay there again if we were to holiday in UK next year, plus was lovely that it was pet friendly as our little furbabys deserve a holiday too!

Parking is an issue though and in the description it did not highlight this. A few tweaks are required in the cottage particularly the lighting in the kitchen.

  • "The cottage was very warm , welcoming and cosy and although situated on a busy main road the good secondary glazing kept traffic noise to an absolute minimum."

So dont let this deter you. The cottage was also very clean. A very reassuring factor. We felt that all covid guidelines were being implemented. Car parking was very convenient. Longframlington is a very friendly village, with good places to eat. (The Running Fox came top of our list)! It is well situated for the enjoyment of coast and countryside.

It’s very pretty and has everything we needed. Our little dog loved the enclosed yard. The scones from the Running Fox Bakery were lovely to have in front of the log burner with a glass of wine. Everything was perfect.

What a gem of a cottage! We had an amazing stay here, such a lovely location, conveniently close to 2 pubs, local shop and delicious bakery. Perfect if you have dogs as there are lots of nice walks nearby. The Log burning stove completely made our stay so cozy and warm. Terri the host was so friendly and made us feel very welcome in the cottage. Would definitely recommend and most likely we will return.

  • "This cottage location was ideal for our needs."

Not far from the coast or national park. Everywhere was easy to get to. This village is great with good shops and two pubs for good food. We had two dogs and they were welcomed everywhere. The owners gave us a lovely unexpected welcome pack and made us feel at home, Although situated on a busy road it didn't detract from the whole experience. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

We had a slight problem with the timer on the oven (my fault) and the owner came straight over to sort out for us. We were left a lovely welcome gift which was much appreciated. Great holiday home which felt more like a home rather than an holiday stay.

On arrival there was a tray with coffee, butter, cheese and bread. The radio was on and lamps on throughout the house. The house was very well equipped, extremely clean and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. This is out second Sykes property we have stayed in and we would definitely look at Sykes again when booking a holiday home.

The Running Fox is well worth a visit for breakfast or for picnic foods, but don't expect to keep your weight down. We have never been to this part of the country in summer and it was beautiful.

  • "The cottage itself was excellent and the welcome pack exceeded anything we have previously had as were the additional cooking ‘basics’ in the store cupboard!"

The location in Longframlington was also very good as central to coast or inland attractions. The bedding, towels and all amenities at the cottage were excellent too. Everything was spotlessly clean and felt like a real home from home. If there was one downside it is that the cottage is on a very busy road through the village with heavy trucks all day and most of the night. Although the cottage had additional soundproofing on the windows it was still difficult to sleep (light sleepers).

  • "The holiday cottage was excellent and everything we wanted it to be."

The welcome was extremely warm with a roaring fire and wine, cheese and coffee amongst the welcome pack provided, all of which was very much appreciated. The standard of the furnishings and facilities was 1st class, with the cottage being very clean and well presented. The only down side was the traffic noise, particularly in the morning with heavy HGV's going past the bedroom window from 7am onwards. Having said that we would be more than happy to stay in this cottage again if ever in the area. Thanks you for a lovely holiday.
