The photos of The Granary on the Sykes web site do not do the property justice. This is the nicest Sykes cottage I have stayed in. The owners were great, coming to greet us and check everything was OK within a couple of hours of our arrival. The property is a barn conversion and has been done to a very high standard, with en suites in both bedrooms as well as another toilet downstairs next to the utility room. The log burner in the living room was prepared with kindling and wood ready to be lit when we arrived, alongside a stock of wood for the week. The village of Longframlington is very nice, with two decent pubs. We had an excellent meal at the Granby Inn, and also had a couple of wonderful breakfasts at the Running Fox bakery / cafe. Over the course of the week we had days out in Edinburgh, Alnwick Castle, Hadrians Wall, Seahouses and Lindisfarne as well as a boat trip out around the Farne Islands. We had a fantastic time at The Granary and our kids have asked if we can go back again next year.
