The hot tub and use of the pool are the icing on the cake. Great location for local walks with easy access to main roads for exploring the area.

  • "Plus points - Lovely cottage in new build area."

Nice accessible walks from doorstep and a good base for surrounding landmarks, e.g Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh etc. Clean and modern, with good facilities. Welcome pack with essentials which was appreciated! Use of swimming pool and personal hot tub. Negative points - Smithy on end of row next to car park so everyone was walking past our window to get to their car as was only access. Only one bedroom had a mirror. During our 1 week stay we suffered 2 major power cuts (one over 12hrs) which, although no direct fault of the owner, hampered our stay quite a bit. Also we had to contact owner ourselves as he didn’t let us know what was happening which was a little frustrating. Although a designated ‘dark sky’ area, it was difficult to navigate in the dark from the pool back to our cottage - low level lighting may help? WiFi was hit and miss, no router that we could see, perhaps in adjacent cottage? All in all we would stay again if these few issues could be improved. A lovely house in a quiet area. Thankyou for having us.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience of the other guests passing your cottage to get to there cars in the temporary parking area but we have completed the work on the correct car park for the new 6 cottages which is behind them and you gain access to it from the main car park. So there is no parking in that area now. We also have some out door lighting that gives you light back from the swimming pool to the cottage. We look forward to welcoming you back if you decide to have a return visit. Property Owner

  • "We loved the property."

We made good use of the pool and hot tub. It’s a lovely setting and looks down on one of our favourite beaches. We looked into the possibility of coming back for Christmas but found the price to be astronomical.

I’m pleased to hear you were so comfortable with your stay, it would be lovely to see you again if you choose to return to us. Property Owner

From the beach, turn left and take a stroll to the Ship at Low Newton, famous for its microbrewery and scrumptious food, or for a more ambitious walk, turn right and take in Dunstanburgh Castle. Head to Craster, where you can sample the delights of a crab sandwich in the Jolly Fisherman, or pick up some kippers from Robson's famous smokery. There is so much to see and do in Northumberland, with Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Holy Island, Bamburgh, Warkworth and Berwick all within easy reach. About the location

EMBLETON

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
