Well equipped in a good position. Garden enclosed and great for doing dog . Lovely selection of leaflets and books. Kitchen well equipped. Great to have a dishwasher and cleaning stuff all provided. The house was a bit dusty, maybe because the vacuum cleaner had a hole in the hose. This was replaced by a new one when reported. The washing machine leaked on the floor and the drain was cleared by the helpful maintenance man, but perhaps needs further attention as the bath drains very slowly. We had a lovely week and would like to return.

I did call Skye cottages beforehand as I needed to know if there was a hairdryer, due to flying our luggage was limited and it was told No! but when we got to the property they literally had everything you could think of, including a hairdryer!! Just wish the times of arrival and departure were a little more flexible. Would definitely stay there again.

Glad you had a good time. Maybe contact ahead next time and we can see if it's possible to arrange times to suit you better. It is usually based on whether some is there before or after you. Best wishes, Sheran and Dave Property Owner

  • "Comfortable, warm accommodation with everything needed to cook and serve meals."

Thanks for the welcome pack and baby bibs - nice touch. Great location, really enjoyed our stay. Just to mention,on arrival, hoover was left in twin bedroom-plugged in. The carpets were not very clean and we couldn’t get it to pick up debris - hair and fluff in the carpets- worked fine on uncarpeted areas. Also as arrival is after 4pm, the outside lights really need to be left on as very difficult to see round the side of the property to the front door and keysafe. Also it would be beneficial to have an automatic light on the drive as you approach the property. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this property. In fact, we were asked by a passerby how the house was- as they’d booked for the summer. We were happy to be very positive about the property. Overall a great time in a beautiful area, thanks.

Thanks for your feedback. Disappointed that you didn't find everything to your liking as we do try to ensure that you have everything you need. For those reading the feedback I thought it might be useful to note the following: - The hoover has been sorted, just needed the filter cleaning. The carpets are being cleaned again this month when it's quieter as it's difficult getting in and allowing them to dry between bookings. -The lights around the outside of the house used to work on motion sensors but we changed this after being told that they popped on with people passing in the street which guests didn't like. We encourage you to switch the lights on in the evening so that you don't have difficulties walking back from the village after dark. We may need to try a solar light near the gate for those arriving after dark on the first day. Hope this helps Thanks Sheran and Dave Property Owner

  • "The property was clean and well maintained inside."

It was well equipped and within easy reach to the coast. The mattress in the non en-suite room was in need of replacing and due to the bowing we tended to gravitate towards the centre. The gardens, weeds and lawns were overgrown and were in need of maintenance, easily rectified with a regular gardener.

Thank you for your feedback. We do in fact have a regular gardener however, as you can imagine, it is sometimes quite difficult for him to fit things in on the Saturday change over day especially if it has been raining. We try to keep it to the change over slot so we don't disturb guests during their stay. This is the first time that anyone has mentioned an issue with the double bed , we will of course try to look into this as soon as possible. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful stay at spuggies rest."

Absolutely stunning location ideal for me, my husband and our two dogs to walk the stretch of the coast and explore. Lovely welcome pack including treats for the dogs and us humans included upon arrival was a very nice touch. The cottage was very peacefully located and larger than we thought it was going to be. The front room is really spacious and great for relaxing on an evening and the kitchen well equipped. The en-suite was lovely and handy and nicely decorated. Loved sitting in the garden and bird watching was extremely peaceful Couple of minor observations is that the front entrance door is a little difficult to unlock from time to time so may need some maintenance. One of the bedside lamps in the main bedroom wasn’t working (may just be a bulb that needs replacing) and also would be great to have more handy plug points located near the dressing table in the main bedroom. Hope the above suggestions are helpful as they in no way made our stay not enjoyable but could just make the difference to future guests Thanks for a lovely stay! We would love to visit again!

Thanks for your feedback. I'll have the light checked out and replace stock of bulbs just in case it happens again. Really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Sheran and Dave Property Owner

The garden was safe and secure so therefore lovely for our granddaughter to play in, as well as for our dog to potter safely. The open porch area was especially useful for sandy shoes and outdoor toys! The kitchen had everything we needed and the dishwasher came in very handy, as with a 3 year old we mostly cooked our meals. It is in a quiet spot overlooking fields . The property is close to Embleton Bay, which is huge and was almost empty, even on Easter Sunday! We also discovered Lower Newton by the Sea which was again easy to access and quiet and good for rock pools too. Seahouses is not far and we enjoyed a boat trip around the Farne Islands and fish and chips. Howick Hall and gardens made another lovely day out. Would definately recommend for a family holiday in beautiful Northumberland.
