  • "On arrival it was clear that the property had not been cleaned - used towels left hanging on coat pegs in hallway, crumpled bedding that looked to have been slept in, main bed had a small bloodstain on the sheet, long dark hairs in the shower and wash hand basin and a poo stain in the toilet - just looked like somebody had left it and would be coming back."

    Underpants and socks left in wardrobe which I had to move before I could use the wardrobe The bin in the kitchen has a broken lid which wouldn't close which we had to sellotape down as we didn't want bin smells all weekend and no bin bag in it or provided. Other than cleanliness the caravan was lovely and well equipped and we had a great break. I dumped the underpants socks and used towels on the bed in the spare room - we only had 1 clean bath towel which we had to share during our visit - only 2 toilet rolls which were down to a quarter and hand soap which was practically empty. The cleanliness was not of the standard normally provided in a Sykes cottage - we have stayed in many of your cottages over the years and will do so again but this one for some reason was appalling and I would not book 17 Summer Meadows again. I rang the owners phone number on arrival re the cleanliness - no answer and message left requesting call back but I got no contact from them at all. Also, there were no instructions on how to put the heating on - it was really cold at night and early morning and my mum is 93 really suffered due to this

  • "Advertising a washing machine but does not have one and no washing facilities on site…you have to travel a mile and a half to the next Parkdean site to use washing machines."

    Could not connect to free WiFi advertised with accommodation. Was able to connect to free site WiFi but only for 2 days of our 14 day stay!! So although accommodation has a large TV due to no internet unable to connect to Netflix or any other added app. Limited kitchen equipment, no scissors and no casserole dishes….could do with some extra bits and bobs. Hoover would not work as battery would not charge, therefore unable to hoover. As I have breathing issues it is important dust is kept to a minimum so disappointing no working hoover! On arrival, accommodation had not been cleaned from last occupants so we had to wait over 2 hours for someone to come and sort….which wasn’t ideal as could not unpack!! We were offered a late check out but as we had to leave 2 days earlier than our booking date this was not appropriate….no other gesture offered for the inconvenience! Park location easy to find and close to beach….food quite expensive. Main bedroom small and little room to manoeuvre round bed….wardrobe in main bedroom full of bedding so could not use….not a lot of storage space for clothes so kept in suitcase. Would be tight for a family of 6 even with 3 bedrooms and we were only 2. Although accommodation has ramp access you would not get a wheelchair to the bedrooms or bathroom…..good parking outside. Although we had a great time visiting family we were disappointed with accommodation sadly

  • "On arriving by at the holiday accommodation, we were very concerned by a number of items."

    On the veranda there was a large dog? bone: the glass topped table was in pieces: a tin of Vaseline was on the seat. Evidently, no one had checked the area prior to our visit. In the open-plan living area: a bowl of fruit, some of which had gone off the vacuum cleaner, a fishing net and the outside seat covers were in a corner the fridge contained a solitary onion there was a ‘mended’ box of tissues discoloured teabags in tea caddy In each toilet space there was one near empty roll of paper. Security: On leaving the property to buy toilet paper, washing up liquid etc, 1 realised that the shower room window was unfastened-providing easy access to the premises. After a long and stressful week, this was not what we expected from a property booked through Sykes Cottage. PS. Only the next morning did we realise the CH was switched OFF and also had to switch the gas bottles. As the week wore on, other things were noted: a bundle of bedding in a wardrobe various areas not cleaned etc. Many of the foregoing were photographed. I have sent you this information previously and not had a response yet - my friends suggest social media might be a more effective communication system?

    Lovely caravan , states there is a washing machine, there is not and no laundry on site , the main bedroom is quite small, couple of items could be added to the kitchen example kitchen scissors and sharp knives for preparing food, overall very nice stay

  • "The Caravan was very clean and a lovely home for a week."

    The WiFi didn’t work though, there was no connection, we had to connect to the parks free WiFi. Apart from that it was a lovely stay, thank you
