"One of the best cottages we have stayed in."
The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for a great holiday. Perfect location to explore both the inland national park and amazing coast line. Seahouses is a gorgeous place with plenty of places to eat and see. If we holiday in Northumberland again we will definitely stay in 'The butchers rest' again. Thanks for a great time.

"Lovely comfortable, clean house."
Biscuits, tea and coffee, milk in the fridge made us feel welcome. We felt at home straight away. Definitely would love to come again.

"Very roomy accommodation with plenty of space for the family and dog."
Outside space was useable although noisy from the neighbouring businesses which is to be expected in a central setting.

"A great cottage in a great location."
Comfortable and well equipped. Great hallway space where you can leave coats and boots. Downstairs toilet. Excellent wifi. Would stay again.
Minor negatives for us, no door on main bedroom en suite and light on power button on bathroom mirror very bright (we hung a dressing gown over it), no hooks on bedroom doors.
Cottage is a very short walk to shops on Seahouses main street, 1 minute to the local butchers, which also sells hot filled rolls, pies, and ready meals, 1 minute to an Italian restaurant.
Things to be aware of:
the outside sitting space is a small (secure gated) fenced off area in a shared yard;
access to and parking in the yard is easy with a smaller car;
good mobile reception for O2 and Vodafone;
local co-op 5 minutes walk;
harbour and boat trips to Farnes 10 minutes walk;
beach (miles of sand) and coastal path 15 minutes walk;
Seahouses is very dog friendly.

"It was a lovely clean cottage, our one complaint was that we had no control over the heating system, I get up around 5-30am and the heating did not come on until 8am so was very cold,equally we had some lovely weather and could not turn the heating off when we wanted to."
I have never stay in a cottage b4 where we could not control the heating.
Thank you for your feedback, as stated within the check in file we can alter the timings if you wish.
This was something which you also could’ve mentioned when we rang to check how you were finding the property.

"The property was spacious, warm and well equipped."
The only negative is the 9am departure, this just made the end of the holiday feel rushed. It felt like you were being swept out the door. Such a shame, as it was very welcoming at the start.

"Really nice location tucked away from the Main Street, but still within distance of everything on foot within Seahouses."
lovely house with plenty of space, a couple of down points was that it is very cold in there the radiators are Wi-Fi controlled so we couldn’t change them. There was a strange smell as you first walk through the door and also when you walk out of the door which appeared to be drifting from next door. A bit disappointing that we lost 2 days of our holiday due to not being able to check in while 4pm and then had to check out at 9am.

"Butcher’s Retreat is a lovely property with all the essentials for a holiday home."
It is clean and spacious and close to all the village amenities. Seahouses is a beautiful village with nice independent shops, plenty of places to eat and close to other villages and towns within a short walk or drive. Both village and Butcher’s Retreat are dog friendly which is ideal with having 2 Cocker Spaniels. I would highly recommend staying at Butcher’s Retreat when holidaying in Seahouses.
